Got My License!

Yesterday i completed my log book, so today i have just gone and picked up my provisional drivers license! :D I can drive all by myself now! Just because i can i'm going to pick mum up from the shopping mall soon, hehe. I've been told i'll be getting all the little annoying jobs now - "Bea, mum needs a lift to the mall", "Bea, Tim needs a lift to school", etc.

Congratulations!!! You're going to have to explain this one to me Bea. You said you've got your PROVISIONAL licence and you can drive on your own, well here when you have passed the theory test, you pick up a provisional licence, but that means you can learn to drive, you still have to have somebody with you at all times. So, now you have your provisional licence, how do you carry on to get your full licence?

Here you do a general knowledge written test to get your LEARNER's license, when you have that you must always display your L plates and have a fully licensed driver in the front passenger seat with you. You can get your learner license when you're 15 years 9 months old. When you're either 17 or have had your learner license for 6 months you can take a driving test or do log book to get your provisional license. You have that for 3 years and you have to display your P plates for that time. With a provisional license you can drive alone but have fewer demerit points on your license so if you break road rules you pretty much just lose your license. :p Once you've had your P's for 3 years you automatically get a regular license.

I have been driving alone twice now! Just now i went to pick my brother up from a school excursion. He was 20 mins late, then he wanted Macca's for dinner and then i had to drop something at a friends house. I thought i would be gone 20 mins but i was gone an hour, i was sure mum would be worried that i killed both her babies in one go, lol, but on arriving home i discovered that dad was worried about HIS "baby" - the CAR!!! :rolleyes:

That is sooo cool! Congrats! Thats funny about your dad. I'm sure you'll be a great driver. Especially seeing how responsible you are with your birds.

Congrats Bea!!!! thats great you must be happy to get all that behind you, I remember those days soon as you get the license you become an istant taxi driver...hehe :p
