Major Storm

The first major storm of the year is about to hit Southern Ontario :eek: according to the news we are going to get in there exact words walloped...lol and of course the hardest hit will be where I live :rolleyes: there predicting 25 cm in less then 24 hrs get out the boots and parkas :D its suppose to start tommorrow afternoon and go right into Sunday so we will see what happens and if its as bad as they say, I will have to get out there in the snow and take some pictures so you can all see my winter wonderland...lol ;)

No fair! I know I'm not suppose to be happy that you're getting snow but I want to go take some pictures of snow and ice..Be safe. Hope it passes quickly.

I'm in Alberta right now, but my family lives north of Toronto, so I'm going to be flying in for Christmas. So, hopefully there aren't any storms next week. Don't want any flight delays. :D

For some reason i just didn't think of snow when i saw the word storm. :p I was thinking rain, hail and lightning. Are snow storms just as scary? I, obviously, wouldn't know.

I don't find them scary at all if your in doors :p I am one of those people that hates driving in snow the roads around her can be so bad and there are a ton of accidents anytime the snow hits, I do worry about Ian though he has to work this weekend and it scares me when the roads are like that but I am sure he will be fine, nothing we haven't been through before if its that bad he will just have to stay where he is.
I actually like getting my boots and coat on and going outside during the storms and watching all the snow fall its like a wall of white and it looks so pretty...lol like I said as long as I can run back in my warm house :p with a cup of hot chocolate

Serenity the Toronto area is not suppose to get it as bad as we are we are only about an hour away from Toronto but everything I have heard says it might not hit there as bad as here so I am sure you will be good to go by next week :D

If your anywhere in the Southern Ontario area its suppose to start sometime in the afternoon and go right through to Sunday, I am sure the salt trucks will be out in full force this weekend, drive carefully, hopefully it won't be as bad as there predicting they have been known to be wrong before...lol

you could so send your storm our way we were supposed to get hammered also but it turned out a whooping 1 inch :( I suppose I should be happy with what we did get I plan on taking the kids out this weekend to get more pictures of sleding which should be fun. I am still so much a kid at heart:D

Babi it hasn't started here yet its just very cold and overcast your right I think its the calm before the storm, its suppose to start this afternoon sometime and pick up this evening but more so over night and then go right into Sunday :eek: I was just watching the weather channel and it said snow around 12-1pm but I don't see anything yet and by morning 15 cm or more, the Hamilton and surrondings areas are suppose to get hit the hardest so they say, we will see :eek: your not to far from me so I am sure you will get your far share as well there calling for up to 30 cm for our area's

Well we should be able to keep the kids busy tomorrow at least! We will be making snow forts tomorrow and having snowball fights.

I know storms are bad for you, but I would love to live were you do(just to watch the snow).
Here in the U.K.(well were I live anyway) it snows about once a year :(, but it is really thin aswell, so it melts really fast! *wahhh*

I love watching snow, but there is never enough. Only last year, the snow was about 4 cm's thick (not much to you Laura :D) & I made a snowman on my own, my sister & brother go in after a bit, they say it is too cold!

But as soon as the sun came over the house, the snow began to melt :(
I really hope it snows this year :D

Babi do your kids like the snow as much as mine, well as my son...lol my oldest daughter is not crazy about it she prefers to stay inside but my 7 year old son is soooooo excited he loves playing in the snow.

Hopefully they will be able to get out there and enjoy it I was just watching an update on the weather channel and they say its going to be near paralyzing conditions out there now there calling for up to 40cm.

My,Brother & Sister always want it to snow (my brother is 8, my sister is 10 and, I am 13) but when it snows they go out in it for about 30 mins and then come in because they say there hands are cold, because everytime it snows I make A snowman & they help. But in the end I always do it on my own, every year it snows, my snowman is there in the middle of the front garden:D

Sophia you are just like my son he is out there even in the bitter cold he just loves it, my daughter is the same age as you 13 and she hates it outside :rolleyes: she would prefer to be in the nice warm house.
I am looking forward to making a snowman with my son soon as this storm passes and we can get out there :D

It's sunny here..and about 78F...yuck...they claim we are suppose to get a cold front on Monday and it'll bring the temps down at night in the high 50F's..I'm looking forward to it!

Our kids love the snow too. They do come in to warm up then right back out. We still haven't even gotten one snow flake but it sure is cold out there! Have you got any yet Laura?

It started to snow very lightly this afternoon then it stopped quickly and there has been nothing since, maybe its not going to be as bad as there saying :p I just heard on the weather channel that its starting to push its way across Southern Ontario

I live in Rochester NY and starting tonight Saturday, we are suppose to get between now and Monday morning 18-30 inches. I cant get around well so i hate the snow and such but what ya going to do...be happy.

we are getting the same over here they say up to 25-35cm in my area.

Well the snow has finally started here the ground is already lightly covered and its coming fast and blowing hard.

we're getting a snow storm now, the news casters keep saying our area will have between 3-17" of snow by this afternoon

I really hope what we got now is it, I've got to walk my kids to school! this school doesn't do 2 hr delays or cancle schools unless it is absoutly necassary, like when there is a state of emergency and only Emergency vehicles are allowed on the road all others will go to jail sort of thing

Well, I love the snow so much because it only snows about once a year here, and for only about 1 day :(
But I just think it is great :D Having snowball fights, making a snowman, snow angels, everything to do with snow!!:D
When it snows it, wouldn't be right without making a snowman. I just still can't get over the fact that, my brother & sister go inside :rolleyes:

woke up this morning and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, Ian called me from work this morning he leaves out at 6:30am and he said it was pretty clear a little bit of freezing rain but its coming down hard now so maybe the worst of it will come today its been snowing for about 2 hours now and its like a wall of white out there.

I know, its unfair isn't it? I've never had a white xmas. It hasn't snowed here for years, well not where I live because I'm near the sea, and the salt does something to the snow or something like that lol. So not fair! :p

I live in the UK aswell :( I have only ever had one white christmas (on christmas day) 2 years ago, it was great:D
