OK,i admit it,im not good at this mutation coloring,In the picture the female(momma)is on the right,she has some really bright small yellow dots all over her body,they show up in picture if you enlarge it 100% in ''paint'',,the male on the left,well this is the ''boy in question''as to what you call him??Is this considered ''saddleback?'',pied??there are so many names for the mutations,i just want to really know the ''description'' to use it properly,I appreciate any comments!!These parents produced 3 lovely little pearls,which i am weaning/handfeeding for the ''previous''owner due to health problems.Im going to keep 2 of them for future breeders. I have 2 male lutinos babies,,these birds are also from her home,but differant parents.So i will end up pairing one pearl/to one lutino,then the other lutino to my whiteface pearl.Sorry,got off subject a bit:p:blush::D.
Im building my family tree for the tiels,for future breedings,and like to get as much info as i can for it.A BIG THANK YOU FOR REPLYING!!:D

I replied on your other post the male is Pied split to Lutino and pearl
he looks a lot like my Female pied Nibbles which is just Pied (may be considered light I don't know its just easier to say Pied)
here she is

EDIT: i just saw your post in the July COTM - are those 3 babies this pairs babies? if so those babies sure do look like Cinnamon Pearls to me which means dad probably isnt split to lutino but Cinnamon instead
if they are cinnamon this would be the outcome of their babies Granted he's not hiding any other gene and she isnt hiding any
Mother:Lutino Pearl
Father:Pied Split To {X2: Cinnamon Pearl}
male offspring:
50% Grey Split To Pied {X2: Lutino Pearl}
50% Pearl Split To Pied {X1: Cinnamon} {X2: Lutino}
female offspring:
50% Grey Split To Pied
50% Cinnamon Pearl Split To Pied

Ok...the father looks like a cinnamon pied. 'Quite possibly' when he was younger he mave have been a cinnamon pearl pied. A straight on and closer back view would help. The bar is blocking the veiw of the hen. is it a lutino pearl? If so, if the 3 visual pearl babies are normal pearls then they are males split to cinnamon, pied and lutino.

I feel so stupid some times,,LOLOLOL,i took the picts yesterday of the mom and dad,they were a bit nervous of the camera in thier face!!(Susanne)the female looks like a lutino,but when you hold her and get a real close up,shes yellow,with bright flourescent spots of yellow,,Yikes a spotted owl,,HAHA,,kidding aside!!Shes a really pretty bird!(ATV)EDIT: i just saw your post in the July COTM - are those 3 babies this pairs babies? if so those babies sure do look like Cinnamon Pearls to me which means dad probably isnt split to lutino but Cinnamon instead ...YES,those are the 3 babies,(the only 3 from clutch)they do have a slight washed look to them.
To everyone..The father,he has the little wash look to him also,lighter grey,Im going to check on my older breeder friend on tuesday,and i will snap a couple more picts of his back,side,etc,,,so with mainly just the wings''colored''is that saddleback?That was a new term for me when i joined this site!
Let me try understand this correctly=if the male is a cinn/pearl/pied and the female is a lutino pearl then the babies are male.....i know its the male that passes the pearl gene on(correct me if wrong here please)and the female doesnt pass this,,im so confused,,HAHA,,,Now i want to keep all of them,i love the pearl markings!!Let me look at the picts i took yesterday again and see if theres a better shot of momma,THANK YOU BOTH!!
OK,i double checked the picts,and i have clear shots without bars,but the backlight of the windows makes it hard to view them better,sorry,im enclosing one just for haha's,i know with this bright sun out here,i will have to roll cage out and get better picts!!If you enlarge it 100% you can barely see mommas spots,and daddy shows a bit clearer,,thanks again,i really appreciate the knowledge of ''People''here,thats why im here,to learn,learn,learn!!

since both parents carry the pearl gene The babies could be either sex
if just the mom carried it you wouldn't have any visual pearls The males would be split to it
if just dad carried the pearl gene any visual pearl would be female
BUT if they are cinnamon pearl then they're females because The mother isn't a cinnamon just the dad so all sex linked mutations that show visually would be female
and one other thing any babies they have are also split to pied
he doesn't look cinnamon pied to me but Plain pied Split to cinnamon my pied has a yellow wash over her body, along with white sections, her markings are grey and vary from light grey(like ashes) to a dark grey
here is a pick of a Saddle Back Pied
it makes it look like they're wearing a vest the only markings on in the wing area

That was the best one i could find, but i know i've seen better just can't find it now
if he is cinnamon pied split pearl this is the outcome
Mother:Lutino Pearl
Father:Pied Cinnamon Split To {X2: Pearl}
male offspring:
50% Grey Split To Pied {X1: Cinnamon} {X2: Lutino Pearl}
50% Pearl Split To Pied {X1: Cinnamon} {X2: Lutino}
female offspring:
50% Cinnamon Split To Pied
50% Cinnamon Pearl Split To Pied
if he's Pied Split to Pearl and Cinnamon this would be the outcome
Mother:Cinnamon Lutino
Father:Pied Split To {X2: Cinnamon Pearl}
male offspring:
50% Grey Split To Pied {X2: Cinnamon Lutino}
50% Cinnamon Split To Pied {X1: Pearl} {X2: Lutino}
female offspring:
50% Grey Split To Pied
50% Cinnamon Pearl Split To Pied

OK,That makes more sense,,i'll get it,slowly but surely!!That is one BEAUTIFUL BIRD!!!!!!!!!Is it yours?I want one!!!LOLOL,And thank you for that explanation,its starting to make more sense,all these differant splits!!Just ''visual''means nothing anymore,,for example,,my 2 greys,they were grey babies,grey adults,and they popped out a little white fluffball,along with 4 yellow fluffs,,and ended up both being split to whiteface.I think thats one of the best things with breeding,the surprise you get in the box,,like the white one i got,i was floored!!!Im going to ask my breeder friend is she knows more the history of her birds on tuesday!Either way,,its going to be a couple years b4 i can breed one;-).thank u.!!

your welcome - the last pic i posted isn't mine - i goggled it
and yep if your "normal" greys threw out white down babies both are split to white face :)
I don't have too many left that'll give me surprises I only have one pair that I've not bred yet - i put them together(bought them as a pair, and they bred for her) all infertile and they're both White Face Fallows but now i have them separate with different mates but nothing yet
all my other ones are Babies from last season And i know their entire mutations, Or the parents to those babies and i don't think they're hiding anything else on me LOL
