View Full Version : Purple cabbage ok?
Just wondering- I found different things on it and I forgot if it is.
I've always heard that cabbage in general is a no-no. :)
I was weary about it too. Thanks.
Cabbage gives them diarrhea, or so I've heard, so I guess it's a no-no. :)

I have heard different things on giving cabbage, I have never personally given it but I have read alot of places that say cabbage is ok.
Feed only small quantities but vary the offerings made.
Choose from the following list:
carrots - cut into thin, beak-size strips
zucchini
silverbeet - include the white spine
whole string beans
corn on the cob
spinach
broccoli
snow peas
celery - stalks and tops
cabbage
This is what was posted on a national cockatiel society.
I also found this on a vet hospital site
fresh varying foods should be offered as well.Vegies esp. greens like spinach silver beet endive parsley carrots peas celery parsley and cabbage are great.
Yes- I read different things- I won't be giving them any.
I guess it's better to be safe than sorry. :)
