I have been watching some sun conure videos (yes, I'm thinking about getting one...it the future though) and I came across this video. This is not even my bird and it had my heart pounding http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hb6oztu-CYU .

They sure are beautiful I was tempted to get a green cheek conure the breeder I got the tiels from breeds them as well ;)
They sure have some trust going on there I could never do that I would be so afraid they would take off
If trained I would trust the bird but would never trust all the hawks...

She is fast but Iam sure the hawks are faster. Hopefully they will never find that out.
I would love a sun conure, if i ever live somewhere where the sound wouldn't be an issue i would probably buy one. If that doesn't happen i think a green cheek conure would be just as fun. :D

I think they conures are beautiful I heard they are super smart too! My wish list however is topped by an african grey which I am hoping to be owned by some day soon!

Me too..a grey, a Scarlet macaw, a Hyacinth macaw...lots of expectations. Hopefully I'll find a rich hubby to provide for me and all these birds since I won't be able to work...I'll be too busy giving head scritches all day..lol (just kidding) hubby or no hubby I'm getting atleast one of the above.

Wow! That would be amazing if you could let a bird out, and not be afraid of them flying away:D It would be great:)

I think Sun Conures are absolutely stunning, but I can tell just from that video that the sound they make would drive me insane, so I'll settle for admiring others'. :D
If I get a larger bird one day, I believe I'll get a blue-headed Pionus. They aren't really all that much bigger than cockatiels, though. I've also always wanted an African Grey (since I was much younger and once gave one head scritches in a store because it lowered its head for them; so cute!), but I don't think I'll ever be able to save up the money to afford one, plus its cage. :)
I don't think I'd ever be able to trust my birds oustide... I'm a huge worrywart, and the risk of losing one is too much for me!

I had Nanday Conures several years ago and they drove me nuts. A friend couldent keep them any more so he gave the pair to me. Them things are so loud i had to get rid of them. Sun Conures are not as loud from what im told and i think there beautiful as well. Thought ide share...be happy...

I heard sun conures are one of the loudest http://www.birdchannel.com/bird-species/profiles/sun-conure-2.aspx . I think big birds are nice but the beaks scare me and I hate loud noises :o
