Back in February my hubby and I moved from one apartment to another in a better area. At this point we had 6 cockatiels (no Mudflap yet, we still had Charcoal) all lively and cute. But one day when I got home from work I couldn't find Charcoal. I'd had a bad feeling all day but I wasn't sure about what. :( I guess it was my subconscious screaming that Charcoal wasn't with the others that morning but I hadn't noticed it. It took me ten minutes to find him but I finally did, sitting in-between my running shoes. Our birds pretty much have the run of the house so that's why I hadn't noticed it before this. The worst part was my Hubby's reaction...Charcoal was his favorite. He took him everywhere with him. And now he was gone. Hubby figured Charcoal ran into the bar and broke his neck but I have another suspicion all together. I think Charcoal ate one of my flowers that Hubby had bought for me and was poisioned. It looked like he had orange stuff around his beak and like he had tried to throw something up. I'm pretty sure lilies were a part of the bouquet and at the time I didn't know they were bad for my babies. I can't tell Hubby this because it'll kill him but it hurts to know that me having a bad day could've hurt one of my babies. Charcoal loved to sing, was in love with Cinnamon, and would've made a good daddy some day if he had had the chance. RIP Charcoal...

RIP Charcoal :( It is best to keep all plants away from them if you are not sure if they are safe or not. As well as have them in their cage when no one is home.

I'm so sorry. It's an awful thing losing one of our babies. Mine are 'free-range' too and have the run of the house. I always keep all the inside doors closed though except one bedroom which they like(d) to play in. RIP little Charcoal.

Idef don't have any plants out now or anything...they just love to explore and there's a basket across the room with shredded paper in it that they hang out in. It was so sudden and shocking and the hubby took it really hard. Mudflap helped make it better and he fits right in too!
