baby question

just want to throw this at you my one budgie has 2 chicks 5 weeks old the mom laid 2 eggs this week they are now in a different cage they did eat little from the floor of the cage but the last day and a half they have not is it posible to put the father in there and have mom still lay on the eggs

Yes, the mum will be able to manage on her own long enough for the chicks to be weaned. Were they being attacked in the other cage?

the one was but it fought back and now the one who was won,t go near the chick i,m keeping a close eye on it

Another thing you can do is just make sure there's lots of shallow dishes with soft food for them. Things like millet spray, soaked seed (just soak overnight, rinse in the morning and serve) and wet egg and biscuit mix are all good foods for chicks that are just weaning. :D

I would let the Dad finish weaning them. Good luck and keep us updated

Good luck with them. Keep an eye out for them and make sure they're eating. Worst case, if dad is still being abusive remove him and try placing him back with mom. Also, handfeed if you need to. At 5 weeks they should be partially eating on their own or atleast curious about food so try Bea's ideas.
