they were out of the cage at my boyfriends and tsuka did the most rudest thing ive ever seen! he gets off his perch, walks over to dally who is minding her own business drinking apple juice (tsuka had night fright and needed energy after blood feather issues) and kicks her! its a bit hard to catch so watch carefully. anyone have a tiel who did this:eek:
???

Hahaha, that is funny. The only time I've seen something similar to this was this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJPyjQ3IqmI&p=4FEFD393C48F93CD&playnext=1&index=22) video, although that was with budgies.

Yep! I have had this happen before. One of the cockatiels I re-homed, Tucker, used to do this to all the birds. He would just casually walk up to them, and push them off the perch with his foot. I have nooo idea why he did it though.

Hahahaha. You don't know how hard I laughed when I saw this! That's hilarious and so random of Tsuka! lol. Btw is apple juice really good for tiels? We have it in my house all of the time, so I wanted to know if I can give it to them too....

I was expecting something much more violent! Like the two-footed ninja kick that the late great Geezer once used to knock Vlad off the couch. It was basically a cockfighting move.

Oh, poor Dally! It has awaken the justice streak in me and also my protective nature towards girls! :) If they were my tiels I think I would have kicked Tsuka back :p and cuddled Dally for the rest of the day to make up for it. :D
Oh, one comment about giving tiels juices---I would personally dilute the juice before I give it to a bird because really, juices are loaded with sugar although most people don't think about it. I visited a Chinese (naturalpathic) doctor once, and she said that we should always dilute juices with 50% water before we drink it because the juices we buy from the supermarket are so loaded with sugar that it actually is too much sugar. Her argument is we should think about how many apples are required to make one cup of juice---10 maybe? But in nature, who would eat 10 apples in one sitting? So if we think about it this way, then we will know that it is not natural for us to just drink the juices that could be the equivalent of 10 fruits at one time. That is why I always dilute juices before I drink them, and I'm so used to it that I find undiluted juices waaaay too sweet. I find diluted juices just as thirst-quenching (if not better), and I also save money on juices because I make it last twice as long. Therefore, I would recommend that both humans and tiels drink diluted juices. ;)

Annie - I dilute my juices too! I can't stand drinking full strength juice... It's really just flavoured water for me!

i get sugar free juice for them and i only use it after an emergency so they keep their energy up. apple is the only flavour they like... its rare i need to use it. and dally was just confused after. she didnt get it and she still doesnt care. she just puts up with tsuka's behavioural issues.

Giggles, my budgies i think do that to each other for once their now sitting on a perch of their own. I'm prolly gonna add a few more during christmas but, least glad I got a chuckle out of the video didn't even cough after with my cold.
