love bird question

:tiel4:ok i just got off the phone with my breeder and is she mad
she sold a love bird to this guy and he called her said the love bird was limping she asked what happened he said she fell off the perch right from then i said this sounds verry strange to me well she asked what are you feeding it as when she first sold her to him she said fresh vegtables rice and some pasta and most of all it need a good seed well he was only feeding it pellets so we were wondering how long does it take for love birds to starve to death as she cot a call this morning saying the bird died
so she called all the local breeders warned them about him as well :tiel5:

That is horrible. You can't just feed a bird whatever you want and expect them to eat it. The love bird did not know the pellets were food and starved to death :mad: Iam not sure how long it would take, but I say one day without food it way to many.

Awww, that is so sad. Why are people so stupid? Hell, if we don't like something we try something different.....I throw away more food than Dooby eats, but he has a choice. To just give pellets is cruel if the poor little bird wasn't used to them.

how long did he have the lovie that would give you an idea of how long it went without food if it wasn't eating, Birds have such a high metabolism that it is dangerous for them to go for very long without eating.

I don't think it went two weeks without eating it must have been eating something, I am pretty sure it wouldn't last two weeks if it wasn't eating at all.

It wouldn't last two weeks eating nothing at all. Poor bird though, that's why i could never sell my budgies when i was breeding them, the chance they would end up with some scumbag was way too high.

he didn't feed it rice, he only gave it pellets which it wasn't use to :(

Well, that's the reason I could never be a breeder.I'd keep them all..
