MY first cockatiel I ever owned and he died before he was a year old. The first cockatiel I ever met that wasn't mean or afraid. My first bird I ever got just after weaning and raised to make my own. The first bird I've ever had that wasn't afraid. And the first bird I've ever had that loved me and wanted to be with me and get pet and spend time....

I'm not sure what happened. He was of perfect weight and good feather and was happy. There were no fumes or anything. Maybe it was just a genetic thing or something because he was just from a pet store and I know how those are usually bred. I bought him through a small pet store that only has like 5 stores in the nation and they are all here so I thought maybe he would be healthy because small pet stores can have better breeding stock and all that. I buried him and have been depressed all day. I covered his grave with stones so it wouldn't be forgotten where he was buried and also so my dogs wouldn't dig him up. Unfortunately I have to move in June to Germany and I know the next people here won't respect his grave and will move the rocks and that upsets me because I know that will disturb him. There isn't anything I can do about it which sucks worse.

I'm sorry Ruby... that sounds heartbreaking. He sounds like he was really well loved. Perhaps you could plant something over his grave - that might deter the next residents from disturbing it.

That's a good idea but not many plants here will grow well because it's so hot and dry and then in the winter it gets pretty cold too. also not many people here water anything so iunno. I'll go to Lowe's or something and ask what would do well.

Thank you. I will get another one once I move back from Germany so I don't need to worry about shipping it in and out of countries.
