Pinfeathers ?

so ummm yea, little kirby is just sitting on my shoulder and is getting a huge dose of scritches, he makes a funny screeching noise like non stop......

while scratching i can feel some rough (spot is round his neck just behind his crest and down his neck) spots down there, i took a closer look and it looks like little white prickly .....things lol

are those pinfeathers ? is that why he can't get enough scritching ?

Not very long, but they'll be appearing for a few weeks if he's moulting. Mine love when i rub gently at their pin feathers. :)

today is really the first day i worked up the confidence to put my fingers anywhere near his head !! straight away he put his head down and started making really long screeching sounds, not really high pitched or anything.

i don't know if he likes it or not judging by that sound.... but i guess he hasn't bitten me yet so i guess he likes it ;)

Mine use to make this radio static noise during head scritches when they were younger. Like the others said, he's moulting and loving the scritches!

They do sound like pin feathers, and he will love you scritching him, while they are coming through! :D

Mine love it to when I give them scritches when they have the prickly pin feathers of course until I hit the wrong spot then they let me know I did wrong...lol

Sounds like he is having his first molt. Spike also made the static noise non stop when he was younger.
