I know lima beans are only safe when FULLY cooked otherwise they can cause alot of digestive problems. In moderation, when cooked they are ok to give. As far as water chestnuts...not sure..gotta look it up.

Edit: All the info I found says they're safe.

found it on T.B

WATERCRESS this is high in vitamins A C & E and aids the kidneys.

So it is good for them

we make ours birdie cakes, I bet Ella would go wild for them

take a box of Jiffy mix mix it up just like the directions say ONLY i replace the milk with water, and i add the shells of the eggs too

then we cook up some beans ( we use a 15 bean soup mix) and cook up some noodles, sometimes we use the multi colored noodles other times we use whole grain noodles,

cook that up and drain it real well, then add that to the mix of jiffy in the bowl

then we take some papya and break it up and throw it in and mix it up real well we also add mixed veggies ( we use the frozen bag kind and let it unthaw 1st)

then we use Bread pans or a cake pan we sprinkle thier food and some millet on the bottom before pouring in the batter/mix then sprinkle it on top after all the mix in - the seeds, millet and bird food ontop keeps our friends from eating it - thinking its something good for them( we had a friend eat some of the birdie bread we had sitting out  a few weeks ago)

here's a couple pics of the done project

all my birds devour this in minutes, most are eating it before we have it in thier dishes
