Roxy has crossed the Rianbow Bridge.
What a sad day this has turned out to be!
Roxy has not made it thorough the anesthetic. They tried to do a stitch to hold her internals in. The vet did say that if she had made it, they would have to try to spay her. And that would of been very high risk as well.
She had a prolapse and I found her bleeding this morning. She had been bitting herself around the prolapse and that was where all the blood was coming from. It was torn from her attention to that area.
I noticed that she was wet around her rear yesterday, I did have a look, but did not catch her to have a good look.
Today I saw Max hassling her a bit, so went to see what was going on. Then I see she had blood around her beak. So out with the net, caught her, saw there was a lot of blood around her rear, and she was bleeding, so off to the vets we went. After inspection it was decided to operate.
End of Roxy. We feel she may of been to weak from the lost blood.
She has had egg laying problems almost from the time I bought her home. February 2010, so I knew this could always be the out come. It does not make it any easier to deal with.
I saved her once. from the rescue. But could not save her this time.
