Luna is honestly the sweetest little girl I've ever met, and she appreciates a good head rub lol Here's a video of her, sitting on the laptop getting a rub down lol..

Could the noises/tail movement be linked to the sex of the bird?

I still don't know for sure if she's really a female..
Although the breeder was a good 97% sure lol

All of mine, at some point, have made that noise and movement for head rubs. I have boys and a girl, so I don't think it's an indicator of gender. Regardless, she is beautiful and soo sweet!

I just love the angry little tones she gets in her voice when you stop..."Hey! You! Human slave! Did I tell you to stop scritching me?!"

Awwww!! Luna is "precious"! My little Olivia (Ollie), like to play with a little pinata that I put in her cage. She likes to place herself on the rope perch just right and the bottom of the pinata rubs against her back. Then she also makes some sounds that are similar to your Luna. As for Ollie, I am 99% sure that she is a girly girl!!! Of course, "time will tell"!!

Hahaha that's adorable, thank you all for the comments :) Luna is such a little mush, I absolutely adore her! My two year old daughter loves her too! They sit and watch tv, as well as eat meals together, Luna will jump right into her bowl of veggies and start munching away.. my daughter loves to share, I think I have a video somewhere.. Maybe I'll upload it too lol

My 12 week old Cockatiel makes the same noise when I scratch his head. At first I couldn't tell if he was annoyed or happy lol. The way he shuts his eyes tells me its a very happy sound :)
