View Full Version : Why not have a breeder directory?

I heard that talk budgie's has one. I know a lot of people on here that breed cockatiels. It would be awesome for them to be listed in case someone wants to buy, sell or trade their cockatiel.

I know that a breeder directory would be very useful, and many members on talk cockatiels would greatly appreciate it.

I know it came up in another thread in (Cockatiel Talk), when someone was asking if this forum had one. Hopefully an administator see's this thread, and thinks its a good idea aswell. :D

I think it would be lovely, I'm in the process of getting my little girl a friend.. and it would be real nice to see who breeds in and around my area :)

Thanks for your support! Hopefully we can get as many supporters as possible to have a successful breeder directory.
Thanks :D

Well that's just a thread for a particular person asking for breeders in their area, I think what's being suggested here is another forum that breeders can post about the babies they have available and people can search for breeders in their area. Because lets face it, birdbreeders.com is out of date a lot of the time.

Exactly.
I think that their should be a breeder directory. Becouse it would be more organized, more known and at reach for all to use. Im not saying that smaller threads are not great, but that many people don't even know about them, and a proper breeder directory will be extremly useful and well known of to all.

Thank you roxy culver & every one supporting the idea of talk cockatiels having a breeder directory. :D

I like that idea. It took me forever to find a cockatiel breeder in CT. It should be an attachment or a search area that is part of the website. That way it can affiliated with talkcockatiels instead of a new forum, unless you guys are talking about a website for all types of bird breeders. If it is for all breeders then i agree with the new forum. Plus I agree with Roxyculver, birdbreeders is usually outdated and, personally for me, a bit confusing.

Hi

I just joined the forum today looking for a Whiteface Silver breeder myself and live on the west coast in the L.A. area, but with shipping a good source anywhere would be fine.

G Don have you tried looking on ebayclassifieds.com and searching in the LA area? I know last winter there were several breeders selling silvers in LA as I used to live out that way and would search all the time.

Hi Roxy

I have not looked into ebay for birds never thought about that, will take a peek thanks for the tip.

Looked at L.A. before but did not find too much as the pet shops do not want to say where they get their birds , that is why i joined the forum to have a better shot at finding a good place to get my next bird.

I just got a Yellow Cheek Lutino pearled and he is not quite for me just a bit too hyper, with my new bird i want to try the tricks deal like pulling a wagon etc so i think a need a very lo key bird for that training that will take some time to get results.

I just signed up for talk budgie. They have a nice breeder directory but they don't have many people who have joined and are selling, so I hope that if and when we get a breeder directory that many people that are breeding their cockatiels join. Because I would love to be able to buy some cockatiels from a member that I can keep in touch with on this site. :D

I would LOVE that addition. I am looking for a cockatiel breeder and I haven't found near me (actually at all) yet.
