I am so upset, it is unreal ... I just cannot believe this has happened. I have lot 2 now in the same day. My sweet Knight shade is gone and now my precious lutino pearl who I have only had a short while is gone also.
After I found Knight shade I checked over everyone and the cages and could not find anything amiss. But, now my sweet Applejack is gone also and to the same exact thing - blood everywhere. I checked both of there bodies before I buried them to see where the blood was coming from and they both had the same marks are there wings.
I have been home all evening since I found Knight shade and have not heard anything coming from the bird room. I am guessing Knight shade freaked out at something and got injured and while he was freaking out he scared Applejack and she went crazy and got injured also.
I didn't notice anything when I checked them over, but it just had to be there. I so wish that I saw Applejacks injuries and maybe I could have saved her.
I just pray that neither of them were in any pain. R.I.P Apple jack and Knight shade, may you fly free together.

Such an awful thing to happen! You guys are in our thoughts! :( The whole situation sounds really strange though. If you checked her over and she didn't have anything on her at that point, then maybe this happened afterward. Is it possible that something scared the heck out of one.. and then the other one also a separate time? Are there other birds in their cage? Are there any toys/perches in their cage that have sharp edges? Is there cage near a window? Do you have other pets in the house? Could something or even someone hurt the birds and put them back in their cage? Sorry for all the questions, but sometimes an odd question triggers something. I know this is all awful to think of, but I noticed you have other birds in your siggy. I just have an awful feeling that if you don't figure out what caused this, you might have more injured birds. :(

None of what you are asking is really possible. I live alone, so no one could have hurt them and put them back in there cage and even if that was a possibility these talk hires are not tame and will bite the crap out of you if you try and pick them up. I did look her over as best as I could, but being that she isn't tame I could only see so much. Both injuries definitely had to of happened at the same time and I just missed her injuries because I couldn't of gotten a close enough look at her.

Sorry for your losses.
I would double check everything over just to be sure. Its really strange that you got blood everywhere but nothing to injure them. Is your bird cage suspended? or on the ground? Sharp toys? Did they have ruffled feathers (which hints towards a fight of some sort)?

Did you say the injuries were under their wings? Have you considered the possibility ofbself mutilation from a parasite like giardia?
I'm so sorry for your losses.

I'm so sorry, it must be terrible to lose 2 so close together..or to lose them at all. Maybe it is a good idea to have all of your birds checked over by a vet to make sure there isn't something contagious spreading through the flock.
