I tried so hard to save you, you were so small. I think I aspirated you. I just dont know. you. were feeding then you were gone. I'm sorry baby. you were so thin. so tiny. I think my heart is broken. thank you for letting me hold you and cuddle you. you're with you dad Bubble now. fly high over the bridge.

Thank you Tielfan she did. I expect people are wondering why so upset over a little baby. she was 7 wks. I fed her by hand for 12 days. she had a wonderful personality. she sat and cuddled and chirruped at me.she flew across the room once. at least she got to do that before she went. I feel so bad because I think its my fault but even the most experienced breeder can aspirate a chick and it mightn't have been that. she was so very thin. her feathers kept falling out. and this morning I found some skin was coming away. I hope she didnt suffer. I wish it were different but if I turned back the clock knowing the outcome. i'd do it all again. Even knowing it'd be this painful.

We are so sorry to hear of your loss. :( You did everything you possibly could for the little one. The odds were stacked against you both it seems. I'm sure she is so thankful for the love and care you gave her through her short life. I hope this doesn't deter you from helping another feathered friend as you certainly have that love in your heart. The sweetie is no longer in pain. <hugs>

Thank you everyone. I felt better after seeing the vet today. I had to return some stuff. he wrote down everything I told him. he thought she'd only last 2 days. she lasted 12 and put on weight. he asked me how much I fed her and how often and what I kept her warm with. he thinks progress towards helping another bird was made. She really was thin. My poor 5yr old son was very upset but he's understood she was loved. The vet doesnt think I aspirated her. he thinks she just couldnt handle anymore. poor little mite. Rip baby bird. I miss you. x
