It is time to enter your Cockatiel in the November COTM contest!! This months theme is...

“Foraging”

For this months theme, you need to enter a photo of your Cockatiel(s) foraging – it can be a foraging toy you made, or a foraging toy you bought, even something as simple as your Cockatiel(s) foraging for through a container with different stuff in it. Here is a photo example of foraging: http://www.petsplus.com.au/products/PR-FW04.jpg All entries must have to do with the theme; otherwise they will not be included in the voting.

Please make sure you put your Cockatiels name when posting your entry!!

As always, entries should be resized to no greater than 500 x 500 pixels. If you're not sure how to do this check this thread: http://talkcockatiels.com/showthread.php?t=66

If you are still having trouble resizing your entry feel free to contact me, or one of the other moderators. We are always happy to lend a hand.I should also mention that entries cannot be photo-shopped to include captions or "props" - the photo should be entered as it was originally taken (standard photo touch ups are fine).

Start posting your entries! Looking forward to seeing everyone's.

Entries will close on the 20th of November.

Maybe i throw something together, Luna is mighty adventurous so i can prob get something good.

I tried...but she said "Mom, I'd rather go run and play!" So this is what I got. Maybe I'll try next month. Haha..

LOL!! Since you're looking for entries, I thought I'd throw this one in for fun. It's a picture of my cockatiel, which was taken by my sun conure! :p

I don't know if you'll accept a REAL entry, since I put the other one in for fun, but here it is, just in case:

I don't know if you'd consider this foraging, but... Here's Misty using the conure as such:

I was trying to take photos of my sparrows through the bars of their cage. Connor (my sun conure) and Misty (my cockatiel) were on top of the cage watching me. Connor decided to sit on my finger and play with the phone I was using to take the photos. At one point, he reached over and began to tap the screen and pressed the shutter button. This is the result. I loved it, LOL!

DesertDweller, cute story! Does your conure like to lay on it's back like that? (Your other pic.) Is that something conures do or do all birds do it? (I ask because my tiel recently went to the vet and when the vet flipped him over on his back you would have thought he was killing him. Did not know my tiel could screech that loudly.)

Conures like laying on their backs. I read that mama conure flips babies on their backs to feed them, then cleans their beaks and feathers around beaks. So, I started laying Connor on his back AFTER I fed him and swaddled him, saying 'baby' to him. I imitated mama cleaning his beak and feathers and he falls asleep. I'd then tuck him, swaddled, into his birdie tent where he stays for hours. When he's tired he says 'baby'. LOL

Misty the 'tiel hates, absolutely HATES being on his back. I'm playing a game with him by holding him on his back and saying 'yay, baby!' to him to get him used to being on his back. It's working to some extent.

Such a cutie baby! Very nice picture. I love how you can just about see his 'fingers' in the wings. So cool. :D

That's so cute that Connor says "baby". Sounds like a sweet bird. Good luck with Misty! I guess maybe I should try to work with Sunny doing the same thing so that vet trips aren't as stressful for him.

I cannot accept the entries that are not to do with the theme, only the first 5 entries are to do with the theme, the rest I cannot accept as it would be unfair to everyone else. Sorry guys!
