ok guys, thought of a creative game here.

there's some rules:

it cant be gorey
it cant be scary
it cannot be inappropriate in any way (please stick to forum rules here)
it must be rated G (we're a family friendly forum ;) )

ok, so the original poster starts a story. they write up to a certain point, and once they are done, they leave the story open, where the next person posting has to write the second part. we keep continuing off of eachother to finish one story.

you cant change the main character, you must use the same main character as the OP beginning, however you can add new characters in, and be creative!

Let's see where this story goes!!!

I will start in my next post...

Once upon a time, there was a farmer mouse. He lived on a small farm, growing beans which, of course, grew taller than him. He loved farming and he was such a hard worker. He worked during hot summers with hawks and snakes lurking in his crops. He worked in fall, harvesting his crop. He worked with tools he fashioned out of sticks and rocks, learned by watching human farmers on their own farms. He worked, and worked, and worked, tirelessly all year round.

Why did Joseph the mouse work so hard? He had to help his mother as his mother was now old and greying and could no longer work the farm for herself. He loved his dear old mother. He had lots of siblings as well but none of them had time to care for their mother, as they had families of their own. But Joseph was happy to look after his mother.

One day, while walking along the field on a hot August day, he noticed how scorched his plant was becoming. The burning sun was beginning to wilt the leaves. He frowned and knew they were starting a drought and they had little water as it was. He did not know how he would water this bean plant, yet if he did not water this plant, it would wither and die, and it would mean he and his mother would go hungry. He did not want his mother to go hungry.

He picked up a thimble from the storage shed and set off to the nearest puddle. He trekked across the field, amid the other withered bean stalks. He did not like what he saw. If the human farmers were having trouble, how should he be any different? Surely they knew where to get water?

He was so absorbed in his thoughts that he did not see the snake sneak up on him. It was long, with shiny black scales and its red forked tongue flicked out as it smelled the air. Its golden eyes were fixed on him. Before it could strike, Joseph turned around. He saw the snake and dropped the thimble in panic.

But, he could see that the snake was thirsty as well. Perhaps, if he was lucky, he could save his life by helping the snake.

"Please dear, sir, please do not eat me. I have a mother to feed and to feed her, I need to gather water for our bean crop. Without water, the beans will die, and without the beans, we will go hungry. I can see how thirsty you are, why do you not come with me and help me gather water? I will gladly share what water we have and you can have some of my mother's bean casserole in return," Joseph pleaded.

The snake looked down, and was surprised at the little mouse's courage. Never before had any mouse spoken to him. He was very thirsty, and if this mouse knew where water was, he could finally quench his thirst....

Now next person continue my story from there :) what happens next?

The snake said that he would not eat the poor little mouse. He was thirsty after all and he could tell that Joseph has a stong will to survive. They walked down to a clear blue sream where the water was clean and pure. They gathered the water in small buckets one at a time. After hours of gathering up water, they sat down and rest. The snake was glad that he had not eaten the mouse. He was thankful that he could be friends with Josephs. Joseph was also glad that the snake did not wat him. Life was to short, and a mouse usually has a good life but Joseph didn't. He was a bean farmer and everything, but it was just not enough for him. He has been searching and seaching for another way to live his life but he could just not find it. Some place in his heart though he had hope. And hope is enough no matter how bleak it may seem.

He turned to the snake and looked up at him. "What does a bean farmer do if he can't grow anymore crops?"

"Maybe, move to the city to find a job there?" the snake, named Jack, suggested. "Would you and your mother be able to settle down there?"

"I don't know, Jack. My mother is old, and she is set in her ways and will not want to leave this farm so easily. And my brothers and sisters are too busy to help her, they have their own lives to live," Joseph replied uncertainly. The mouse was scared of the city and all of its noises and lights and smells. Oh, the smells! Some were so good, smelling of food from restaurants... Then the smells from the human cars and sewers below, where rats lived.

Jack was thoughtful for a moment, and he scratched his head with the tip of his tail. "I know of some magic beans a rabbit grew. He sells them in the city, but at a high price. But, if you can grow these beans, they can bring you much happiness and wealth."

Excited to hear of these magical beans, Joseph looked up brightly at the black snake who had become his friend. "Where do I find this rabbit and his magical beans?"

"You must go to the city, go down a dark alley, and turn right. The rabbit has his shop there. It's not hard to miss."

Joseph said good bye to his friend and hurried off to his home, where his mother was making bread. He had to tell her about these magical beans!

He opened the door and began to tell his elderly mother about the beans. She looked at him and smiled. "And why do we need such luxuries?"

"We can be happy, and we can finally live free of farming and we'd not have to worry about droughts!" Joseph explained.

His mother shook her head and smiled to herself. "It is not too bad to be a farmer. But go to the city and find these beans. See for yourself if that is what you want."
