Hi all a couple of sundays ago we lost charlie a cinnamon pied pearl, she lived with bradley, they werent a bonded pair and thankfully bradley is ok he has our budgie eagle to hang out with. I was at my mums as she has been ill, hubby rang me on sunday morning 27th november to tell me charlie had passed, he opened up the cage and charlie and bradley came out and eagle the budgie he went upstairs and after 15 mins he heard a noise and came down to see bradley and eagle the budgie looking down at charlie, she was mad about her son, hubby picked her up gently in his hands and took her upstairs to our son, her eyes were open as he was going upstairs and then closed when he got to the top, it was wonderful to know she was held in her final moments, i still cant believe it and it hurts, the good thing is she was loved and happy and at the first sign of any problem with any pets we've had/have we go to the vet a s a p hubby emailed our avian vet and he said he was more than certain she had a heart attack. Fly high and proud charlie, we will always love you:( Birdgirl

I'm so sorry for your loss. But i too would be thankful that Charlie was being held when she passed.

When we took Ava to the hospital in October she collapsed so i held her and she seemed really relaxed and content to be that way even in her weak state. When the vet rushed in and took her from me she woke in a panic...that was the last time i saw her living. They called us a couple of hours later and said that she had passed on.

I do wish that i could've held her until she passed because she was so attached to me and I to her, but we were trying to do what was best for her so she went to the back to get oxygen.

Rest peacefully and fly freely. (((Charlie)))
