For me I started off with budgies and was looking into getting something bigger I did alot of research and thats how I choose the cockatiel I also looked at the conure as a choice but at this time in life I choose to hold off on them as they seem to require alot more work and some can be quite loud, I think at some point down the road I would love to have a conure I think they are so pretty, I also love the Cockatoo's but I think I would be afraid of one...lol the bigger the beak the harder the bite ;) I have little ones in the house and having a bigger parrot doesn't seem like a good idea to me who knows maybe one day...... when the kids are grown ;)

Congoa are great but need so much from humans. I'd probaally stick with the smaller birds. I'd love to get a linnie.

OMG!!

I am in the process of researching them because I really want to get one!!!
I saw my breeder with one and I had no idea what it was. She kept it because it never got sold.

It is the sweetest thing and is so adorable!

I am going to look at some babies she has today! I will see if I can get pictures.

They are cute. i'd love to have one myself. They have big personailities aswell. They love having a roomy cage. 1/2 inch bar spacing for them and they will use every bit of room you give them. The more room you give them the more playful they are.

Yea. They seem to be very similar to parrotlets (I have two).

My parrotlets have a HUGE cage :)

(you can see Oscar at the top to the left)

Linnies look just like parrotlets in some pictures.
I love the variety of colors too.
The biggest thing is that they are the sweetest birds.
:):)

They certainly are beautiful.

My ideal bird would be the blue and gold macaw, but...oh that beak!! It can break a finger with no problem!!

You have that right. My breeders B&G got a hold of my pinky. I though for sure it was a gonner. He let go and i was left with a bloody finger lol.

About the linnies:::

I went to the breeder's house today. And OMG I fell in love with her Lineolated Parakeet.

It just sat in amazement on my finger as I talked to it and it replied with very very sweet tones.

It is a creamino. I will post pictures later.
I also got pictures of three babies she has (2 blue, 1 creamin0--for me! LOL)

She also has parents that are on two more eggs. She said she would work something out with me to get the creamino one since I am not very financially stable right now.

Ohhhh I can't wait.

You can see more pictures of my parrotlets, and my other pets here:

I have read the sun conure is the loudest out of all the conures, they can be extremely LOUD :)

They are very loud. My mother had one that a friend's neighbor abondoned in the backyard.

It is extremely loud, and my mother gave it up for just that reason.

Bea

I know their loud, still, tons of people successfully have them as pets, so i'm sure there are ways to either manage the sound, or learn to block it out. :p

Learn to block it out =P. I've learned to block out charlie the macaws screams when i was at the breeders. now macaws screaming don't bug me

LOL.

Despite the loudness, conures are very sweet birds. :)

I'd LOVE an African grey when I'm older, but they do need a lot of time so it really depends on my job. I also love conures and Indian Ringneck (don't ask me why I've never actually seen one lol). But of course one of my other dream birds is coming soon.......A COCKATIEL!! YAY!

nar1122

Well, I was at a bird show with my mother, and her husband, and my mother reunited with a 5 month old African Grey that she fell in love with a few shows back.

Well she always begged her husband to get it, and he never did, and always told her to stop asking....
Well, after the bird show(:D), her husband told me that he put a 200 dollar deposit down, and is going to get it for her! (Because their anniversary is coming up in two weeks) :D

I can't wait, because when I go up there, I can handle it too!!!!!!:):D

The only problem is her husband is going to have to find an excuse to drive 130 miles to get it!
LOL

Rosie

That is fantastic, lucky old mum eh?! :D I'm sure you'll all LOVE your new African Grey!

But its gonna take a while to think of that excuse, isn't it?!! :p

nar1122
09-24-2007, 02:35 PM
It sure is....

I guess maybe I should go get it for her husband...it's only 82 miles from where I am. And then take a secret trip, and deliver it! :D

I hope she and I love it! She has always wanted one...
I, on the other hand, have too, but I never dreamed of getting one anytime soon, due to insufficient funds... But, it's definitely going to outlive her (if it's healthy) and maybe I can be the heir! LOL

I also forgot to mention that my mother has been telling me that I can have her Senegal parrot, if she gets an African Grey.
Well, I guess ill be getting that soon too! :D:D
I absolutely LOVE her senegal. It's so sweet, and nice. The best pet bird EVER. (besides my parrotlets, and of course cockatiel...LOL)
