Oh my, what a night. Almost killed cookie and the five baby budgies on accident:eek:. Cookies cage is completely trashed. Well here's a story
We(ally and myself) were in the room. Ally told me to look up and there were the 5 babies all sleeping on a chain on the roof. I tried to show bea on webcam but of course the darn thing wouldn't work. I restarted my laptop and decided to give up on the web cam and grabbed ally's camera and managed to grab two photos before she got pissed. So ally decided to go to bed leaving me to try and get all birds to bed but i'm not surprised and i'm always the one having to put them to be because it seems she can't. I wanted to get the babies down in one go so i started picking them off the chain one by one and cupping them in one hand against my chest. Managed to get all 5 down with two hands being used. I miscalculated where i was going to get off my bed and managed to land on cookies cage which is right at the end up my bed. Needless to say his flimsy little cage broke and collapsed on top of cookie. I tried to shake all the birds off my as i was going down but none left. Jumped up pretty fast and a few of the babies flew off as i did. Two decided to hide in my hair.
Feel so bad for them. They all seem alright. Cookies cage is no good anymore. It's bent a little in places but to hard to get back together right now plus were missing a few parts now. i had planned to turn the damaged/extra cage parts into a cage for him so i had it 1/2 set up. we put cookies old cage outside and laid a towel on the floor. put what i had started on top of the towel and thats his cage for now.(i think it looks really nice and if we were ti finish that it would be a sick and sturdy cage)
We were planning on getting a Gcc but i can't allow that now. Ally is going to buy cookie another cage rather then hugs and the new bird we were planning on getting a cage. Also wont allow it now cause she cared more about the rabbit them the 5 birds that could have been killed. Yes i love the rabbit to but he was fine. He ran off and started eating hay. Not my night for sure. Needless to say i wont be getting anymore birds any time soon. I just need to vent. They all seem ok now and i'll give them some extra loving in the morning and lots of treats. Tomorrow we will probably laugh at it but for now i'm still in shock for what happened. Needless to say as well that chain is coming down.
