Well I am still shaken up about it but here goes..
Around 10:50 PM I got called up because Jesse, our 16 month old male rottweiler, had been missing for about 10 minutes. It is like him to wander off at night when my father fails to watch him closely, but that's usually just to do his business, he always stays in the yard, for the most part.
I was very worried because he comes when called, every time we can't see him. But it's been about 15 minutes now and nothing. We concluded that he wasn't in the yard. So we started looking in the neighbors yard, nothing. My father, mother, and two of our family friends went out in 3 separate cars looking for him. Up and down our street, as well as in the trailer park that is right across our house. I decided to stay back at the house instead of driving as well just in case he came back.
The search went on for another 30 minutes but we couldn't find him. We were sure someone picked him up. We live in an area where if someone sees a nice big dog, they will steal him. It has happened before with our Boxer male who was stolen from our yard and trained as a guard dog.
We all went into the garage and just couldn't figure out what to do next. It was late at night so making fliers at this time will not do anything. There was no one to call around us that we knew, we were stumped.
Next thing we know, Jesse comes running from no where and jumps on our friend, knocking her over. Needless to say we were overjoyed to see him.
I hope this is a lesson learned to my father. He does not watch Jesse close enough when he is out at night, no matter how much we warned him. In his short life he has already been run over by a car, (luckily with not even a bruise) because of my fathers carelessness. Now I am just ranting.. But..
I love you Jesse, I am so glad you're home!
