Anyone else grow sprouts for their birds? My birds LOVE them and devour whatever I put in their dishes. I give them sprouts (sprouted from a seed mix from sproutpeople.com designed specifically for small birds) 2 or 3 times a week. I have noticed that the day of and after sprouts, their poops are large and runny (mmmmm, isn't that a pleasant visual?) and then go back to normal within a day or so.

Does anyone think a couple of days a week with runny poop could cause long term health problems? I know the sprouts are super nutritious for them in general, and they really love them, so I don't really want to give them up.

Hey I was eating :p It is because the sprouts have lots of moisture in them, thats way they get runny poops. As long as they do go back to normal after a little while, it should be fine. Spike has really wet poops after his shower.

That's pretty much what I figured...I mean, OUR poops change based on what we eat, so I imagine theirs will too. :)

When your 'tiel has veggies that are quite watery/nutritious their poops normally get a little watery, but it soon clears up! :)
