RIP Skye

Feel so horrible right now. Just got a message through msn saying "skye is gone". I though my friend was just joking around. I phoned her and I could tell in her voice it was serious. Skye was put down and the vet was kind enough not to charge her. She fell behind a dresser and broke her leg. It would have had to be amputated and the vet didn't want to put such a small budgie under anaesthetic. Skye was always small. They couldn't just leave her like it either because it would have got infected and she would have suffered. I feel so horrible about it because she texted me trying to tell me and I didn't have my phone on me. RIP beautiful girl

I'm sorry to hear about that. I thought the vet would want to take a chance and try the anaesthetic since the only other option was to put her down... She was ver pretty. RIP

I guess it depends on the vet and whether they'll go for an anaesthetic or not. My vet does but they do a lot of surgeries on small birds.

I'm sorry to hear that your friend had to get Skye put to sleep, it's an awful decision to make.
