Vegie seeds

I am wondering if seeds from vegies are safe for cockatiels. I am referring to things like green pepper seeds, squash seeds such as Acorn Squash, Butternut Squash. Also how about the melon seeds, Watermelon, Musk Melon, Cantalope, Honey Dew melon? I am also confused about cooked potatoes are they safe. Also should the seeds be cooked or not cooked? :confused:

Spikes food has watermelon and cantalope seeds in it, so those should be fine. I know that apple seeds, peach pits ect are not good for birds. I would just stay away from most seeds to be safe. Also potatoes should always be cooked for birds. Hope this helps :)

Thank you. Maybe I should have put this in Cockatiel Talk. May have more responses there. We are going to have a little baked Sweet Potato tonight. Piper is a little slow getting into vegies. Snitch loves them now.
I would think squash seeds would be ok. :love:
