Hi I've been looking for a busy Cockateil forum to talk about and get a few questions answered from first hand cockateil owners. Its not like I don't have tons of experiance with birds because I do Its just that my very first bird was a cocateil 35 years ago and I loved him soooo much that I couldn't bring myself to ever get another one after he died. I've got an Amazon, an African Grey Congo, 2 different types of Conures, an Indian Ring neck, and Now 2 Cocateils. I guess God decided it was time I owned another Cockateil because last December I went out my door to find a box with a little baby Wf Cockateil and a note, The note said I have to leave the country and I have managed to find homes for all my birds except this one He was hatched on Oct. 23 2007 which makes him 4 weeks old he is currently on 3 hand feedings a day. I saw all your beautiful birds through your windows and thought this would be the perfect home for this little baby. So what else could I do I brought the little guy in from the cold and finished raising him. he is beautiful I must say and he talks up a storm he can say hello, pretty bird, whatcha doin and a couple other things and so clear its quite amazing. he also can whistle the whole song Baby face you got the cutest little baby face. That my Spike. Today I received another Cockateil from my friend as a birthday gift. He is not tame but apperently was but has not been handled for about 4 months he's about 8 months old so around the same age as Spike I think I'm going to call him bandit as he has a black line accross his face going too his eyes. here is a picture of him Its not very good because I just got him today and he is still a little scared so I didn't want to bring him out of his cage and upset him more than he already is. mabie someone can tell me what kind of mutation he is as I have no Idea.
