Two weeks today i rehomed cookie thinking it was for the best. I was busy with school and stuff but apperently he was better off here. They are selling him even though i gave him to them for free. I'm pissed off at them now and hope these horrible people rot in hell. I'll get some new picutres of in once he gets home.

I looked on a place they sells stuff and there it was . Black rabbit for sale. i knew it was him. I looked at the email and sure enough it was. I'm getting a drive out in about a 1/2 hour and paying to get him back. My mothers not going to be to pleased but i don't care. I'm not going to let him go to yet another home.

Hoping i gets him back and everything is alright.

They charged you $80.00 to get him back!!! and you gave it to them for free? thats insane I know he is worth the money but come on what scammers they are, I bet he is so glad to be out of there and back home with you, I am sorry that happened to you, its sad thinking you were giving him a better home and you find out this.

Scammers is the right word. Glad he's back home with you-it's so sad that they would try and sell him and not even tell you, then on top of that make you pay for him...

Oh dear is so sad - your poor Cookie. :( There are some pretty sick people out there who think that letting a rabbit live in its muck for weeks is alright, not to mention selling him on....:(
Anyway, I am glad that he is home now with you.

Ugh, what horrible people, making you pay for your own baby when you gave him to them for free and then they didn't even take good care of him and kept the stuff you gave them... >< I'm glad you did buy him back because you obviously love him a lot, but they shouldn't have made you do that!

Wow, that is so upsetting. :( Maybe that's why people shouldn't give pets away but charge an "adoption" fee. Weeds out the cheapskates who just want to make a quick buck.

I just have to ask, is $80 for a rabbit a normal price? They're like $15 here.

rabbits are about 20 here. this was with all the stuff we gave them. mind you they only have a samll amout of it back. Pooor boy. As if i didn't feel about enough about having to re home him then to see that add. I don't know what to say about these people. They are sick and twisted

I think it would be worth reporting. You didn't happen to take photos of Cookie's condition and cage before you washed it all did you?

no i didn't. had more to worry about. Like him of course. I will be reporting them to the spca. They live in a hell hole pretty much. couldn't even let us in to help get his stuff. They had a small dog there. I guessing the poor dog will be put through hell aswell. His paws are stained from living in his dirty cage and he has stuff stuck all over his cute little tail.

I don't care though. I'm just happy he is safe again. He went right back to his old habits as soon as he got in the house. Soo sunggly and cute. I know i should have took pictures but i was just soo pissed to think about it at the time.

They didn't even bother to give back the carring case i had him. They just passed him to me out through the door. Poor boy could have easily jumped and ran. He had no hey, bedding, or half the stuff we gave them.

The look on the dudes face when he seen me was pretty funny though. He just jumped back lol.

I was wondering the same thing there not expensive over here either, I can't imagine how these people could charge $80.00 for something that was free to them anyway.

That's horrible. I'm glad to hear he's back in good hands again.

I read an article once about why you shouldn't advertise pets as 'free to a good home' and this is a good example of why. People will take advantage of that fact. The worst possible scenario is someone will take the animal, then sell it to an animal testing laboratory. Some will even bring their family with them to make it seem like they're genuine. Anything to make a quick buck. Some people can be really horrible. :( It's possible to prevent that by charging even just a small fee.

That seems really wrong, though, that they didn't even give anything back. So wrong like it should be illegal, but I'm sure there's nothing to be done... Dang, people like that really make my blood boil!

Did you end up reporting them?

You bet, sent a nice little email to the spca, they said they would look into it. Don't know if they will actually do anything as they are quite slow.
