Hi!
I am new here and new to cockatiels. I just brought home a 4 week old boy named Davis, and a 5 week old girl named Betty. I was told that 'tiels are the easiest to hand feed/wean, and since I wanted to learn how I thought I'd take on the task. Maybe not such a great idea...The hand feeding part I think we're okay with...it's the how to wean part that has me worried. The girl seems to be doing it on her own...the boy though is really needy and cries for food a lot. I am feeding him anywhere from 10-15cc's 3 times a day right now. I have seen him pick at millet a bit. I have pellets, veggies, fruits, seeds, millet available at all times...well the fresh stuff only for a few hours in the day...
Any weaning tips would be greatly appreciated. I look forward to learning from you all, and in time making contributions :)
BTW, I am also momma to 2 cats(Louie and Sadie) and an eclectus parrot (Mister)
