Or is it just his Pearls making it look like he has a huge Split to Pied marking?

this is one of the pearl males ( he sings to me the entire time i'm in the bird room) from Sun Dance and Goldie , Yesterday I noticed 2 white spots on the back of his head - but of course he won't hold still for me to get a Good look (or a good picture :p) So I took the best ones out of what i took (30 some pictures and this is all i got lol)

Does it look like he has the Split to pied Marking ? IF he does how in the world do I know which parent gave it to him? neither parent is pied, and I've never noticed any white nails or different color nails BUT i will go back and investigate them more on their nails, if they'll let me

Sorry, I'm not good with the mutations. I've got a pearl and she doesn't have those beautiful white markings. You have got some truly beautiful birds though!!

It looks like a pied spot to me! Although it might just be a fluke. It will be interesting to see what he looks like after a molt. That is a beautiful batch of babies BTW.

aw, your first baby tiels! :) so sweet!! i know mine started losing some feathers about 4 or so months, which someone suggested was a "sneaky" molt b/c it was only a few here and there. then last weekend, she went bonkers losing feathers so much, i wondered how she had any left on her! she's about 8 months now. so when you find out when they molt, let me know! :)

they normally molt around 6 months old after the first molt we will have a better idea as to the mutation

ok thank you I know most of the mutation lol he's Pearl split to white face and Cinnamon

but if it happens to be pied as well, then well that changes everything And I got to go bak to my Chart and start over :P

I have a good feeling it is Split to pied - because those two spots just stick out like a sore thumb, his picture doesn't do him Justice, His pearlings are actualy very dark (you have to look hard at him in person to realize they're not actually black pearls) then his gold(yellow) is a very deep golden yellow (got that from mom thats the only way i can tell my 2 female cinnamon pearls apart is His mom is a deeper color then the other one)

oh and on a different bird but still the pied topic - Can the pied markings be Yellow?

On "piglet" his/her Pied marking looks yellow to me I'm used to Budgie pieds they're normally white on all mine lol

now i'm off to make another thread - I know i've asked the question before but This baby (different then this topic) is really confusing me and so is her/his parents LOL

I love pearl pieds, they're gorgeous. I'm getting one myself in a few weeks.
