Ivory is a whiteface lutino (Albino) but she has bluegrey eyes and I was told she may have cinnamon in her lineage, but I read that lutinos that have bluegrey can be mistaken as clear pied. I wonder if I bred her with Avalanche if they would still have bald headed birds and maybe blue eyed babies? Avalanche is a whiteface lutino and if I bred him to Ivory it won't be till next year, and also Avalanche is about 7 months old and Ivory is about 1/12 the breeder didn't know for sure and he said all he knew is she was a white cockatiel and said she wasn't a albino cause of her darker eyes!! So I have no Idea what she is and Avalanche all I know is he had albino parents and he wasn't a bald bird!! Ivory is a rare bird as she has blue eyes and thats rare in cockatiels!! So I hope to have babies next year but how old can males breed I have heard that from 9-1 year they can breed but I know females you want to wait till 2 years old!! Thanks Melissa & The Flock O'Tiels

Hi, I found this while looking for a blue eyed Whiteface Lutino and this is one of the things I found.
"There is no such thing as an albino cockatiel. All white cockatiels are a "whiteface-lutino" mutation."

"Whiteface tiels have no yellow or orange pigment. Lutinos have no gray pigment. When these two mutations are mixed, you can get an all-white bird (whiteface lutino), which lacks all feather pigment. These birds can have red eyes (lutino), or they can have regular colored eyes, but they are not albino."

Also I saw mentioned in several places that there are Blue eyed Lutinos. I'm sure I've seen a picture of one posted on here! It is said to be rare but it does occur. I saw three different sites that mentioned them. One boasted of babies that were split to blue eyed Lutino. Apparently a Lutino Whiteface can have either black or red eyes. It looks as tho they can also be blue. If he got the blue eyed Lutino gene with the Whiteface to make him solid white. He is indeed a rare bird. You hang onto him!

Then I would say he was definitely a Blue eyed Lutino Whiteface. Paired with any whiteface hen all the female babies will be Lutino Whiteface. That one site I saw that boasted "split to Blue eyed Lutino" would indicate that THAT trait is passed on too!
