My poor little fellow has passed on after his battle with kidney & liver problems over the past year or so. He died sometime over Friday night this past weekend. I knew that it wasn't going to be much longer since he started trying to find hiding places on the ground when he was out of his cage, and there were a couple times when Ronan (his buddy) would call and he wouldn't answer. I had to return him to the cage so Ronan could find him. Still it came as a surprise when he passed away so quickly, he seemed so strong even to the end.

The first night after his death, Ronan started singing all Prospero’s songs as a kind of eulogy, it was so sad. I didn't know he was such a gifted singer, so much emotion!

Thankfully it's not as bad for Ronan as it could be since there are other birds in the house, but I will get him another friend or two. He hasn’t been screaming as much today, especially if I can let him out in the morning to look for his friend.

May you find peace where ever you are now little Prospero.

Thanks for all the kind words, it is good that Pro is remembered, he was such a good and intellient little guy.

Ronan is starting to eat again and he's trying to bond with the lovebird, which I'm not so thrilled about since she can be very nasty by times. Hopefully I'll be able to find a mature companion for him soon, if I ever find the time to make it into the city or to a breeders.

I'm so sorry to hear about Prospero. It's difficult to lose a pet that you have loved so long. May the good memories help at this time.

Thank you both for your kind words, Ronan and myself still miss him but perhaps it's getting a little easier, that cage looks way too big and empty with only one 'tiel inside.

On a happier note, I was able to reserve a whiteface hen from a local cockatiel breeder, but I won't be able to pick her up until hopefully sometime in December.

what a lovely christmas present she will be for Ronan and you, I'm sure prospero would approve.

I am fairly new to tiels but could not imagine my life without Ozzie, I'm so sorry for your loss.
