My birds Stormy and Sergeant laid 5 eggs in total and have taught their baby from the first clutch how to feed them. It's very sweet. If all five eggs hatch I guess they could use the help :p Cricket has mastered the art of egg sitting though he can only really handle 1 at a time. They are such a wonderful family
Eggie #4 is isn't making any cheeping noises but it does sound like there is a lot of eggshell chipping going on in there. I hope that's what the sound is.
I guess I'll get a better idea of what splits Sergeant carries with a larger number of chicks. I thought Cricket was a pearl but she/he is a normal w/f and sweet!
Here are my sweet lil grandchicks

Stormy and Sergeant - proud parents :) I think myself blessed with this pair

Any guess as to what I'll get? Dad is split for pied - *might* be split for pearl, mom has pink feet if that does mean anything

Ah well, I think #4 is a lost cause, I'll wait till the push it aside. We had our worries since it was knocked from the nestbox and got cold. #5 seems to be doing all right though. Time will tell.

you could get pearls if dad is split to it... and by the seems of the parents you could get pieds too... dad split pied and mom looks pearl pied... so pretty babies.. sorry for #4.. letīs hope you getmultiple mutations there...

good luck!!.. canīt wait to see more of them !! :D

I don't see split for pied in Mom. Pink feet however could be from Pied or from Cinnamon! She looks like a gray WF Pearl but photos can be deceiving. If her toenails are tan than Cinnamon is likely if it was from pied they would be pink like the legs. If Dad IS split to Pearl you could get Pearls. If Mom IS split to Pied you could get Pieds. If not you will get all WF grays, all the boys WOULD be split for Pearl!

I just looked and they appear to be tan but a few look dark gray. But I'll have a closer look tomorrow. It would probably explain that 'dust' factor on her, like a dust brown tinge to the feathers in certain light.
What color are w/f cinnamon chicks? If Sergeant carries a hidden split for cinnamon that would be great! I'm also hoping one might show up with pink eyes and that would point towards a lutino split.

This is kinda like a crackerjack prize - just don't know what you'll get. I don't mind the w/f grays if that's all they have, but it is good to know all the boys will be split for pearl!

Here is my doll Cricket feeding one of the new babies, mom and dad or either side:love: You can kinda see the dusty factor on Stormy in this pic. Cricket is a in between mix of the two.

sorry but from your pics none of the babies are lutino :(... in lutinos you can easy tell the red eyes as soon as born... letīs hope they have the cinnamon and/or pearl ;)

do you have more pics of Stormy?.. I canīt really appreciate her color.. I see her just al ighter shade of gray .. ;)

Well I did my best to candle the last two eggs and thought #4 was a dud since it has a funky air bit (matches photos of a DIS baby BUT when I was just checking them and listening to it again I heard a cheep :D

so I hope in the morning there will be 4 babies :D

I'll have to find better pics of Stormy - but her toes are all brown so I guess I know which way she splits!

If she has a cinnamon gene it isn't a split - she would actually be whiteface cinnamon pearl! She would pass all of these genes to all of her sons, but they would have to receive a matching gene from their dad to actually display the trait. She'll pass the whiteface gene to her daughters but girls receive the sex-linked mutations (cinnamon, pearl, lutino) from their father only.

Both parents are whiteface so all the chicks will be whiteface too. If dad is hiding a lutino split you could end up with some whiteface lutino girls, but you won't get any regular yellow lutinos.
