I have not been really happy with Spikes seed mix he eats. I found his sunflower seeds have holes in them, and I read that sunflower seeds that have holes in them have a higher risk of having aspergillus  So Iam wanting to get him a better seed mix with no sunflower seeds in it. Does anyone know of a very good seed mix? Here are some I was looking at but Iam not sure of this one says not complete diet, Spike gets veggies and has pellets but sometimes does not eat them as much as he should and I don't want him to get less nutrition http://www.parrotdiseperch.com/parrot/shop_details.php?prod=1078 this one has spinach flakes but I thought too much spinach was not good also I want no sunflower seeds yet it says no sunflower seeds than list grey sunflower in the ingredients https://healthybird.net/store/product_info.php?cPath=85_108&products_id=1346 So any suggestions on a good seed mix Iam leaning towards the first one.

Well I found a food that might be easy to get http://www.kaytee.com/products/kaytee-fortidiet-pro-health-cockatiel-safflower-blend.php Iam hoping to get it for Spike. This is what I got for now http://www.hagen.com/canada/english/birds/product.cfm?CAT=8&SUBCAT=809&PROD_ID=08028010010101 Iam giving the old food to the outdoor birds, they are going to have a good start to the new year :p
I buy from a local place here. It's called Higgins. Their seed is ALWAYS great quality and very fresh. http://www.higginsgrpcorp.com/

An acquaintance of makes her own food and now distributes it. I was on her website yesterday and I think I’m going to order a sample of her stuff. It is simply everything I’ve seen mentioned our little tiel-tots need and it’s already to feed, no preparation time at all. Seeing that I can sometimes struggle just boiling water this could be just the thing for Holly and I. Her site has many quotes from past purchasers saying it’s been the only thing that has turned their seed-junkies heads. When I get some and try it with Holly I’ll share my experience if anyone is interested.
Terri ~ I just read what I posted and it sounded like a stupid commercial. I am not affiliated with this product at all and I gain nothing by sharing any info on it. The woman that makes this food also owns a dog in which I run a breed specific e-mail list for, she is a member of my list.

Thanks for the info :) I decided to go with the kaytee. I did not like any kaytee food but this is a new product and it looks pretty good. I found a store that will order it in for me.

Just watch the Higgins brand because the Safflower gold and the Australian contain Ethoxyquin(preservative) and Mendione Sodium Bisulfate which I've read are very bad and banned from Human foods. I was told to buy the Safflower gold, but now I see those ingredients and am on the lookout for a new seed mix.

Thanks for the info, I never thought that Mendione Sodium Bisulfate would not be safe. I wrote the company about it as I want to see what they say.

Ethoxyquin is used in some kaytee products , But from what i heard supposedly they're going to stop using it and switch to something with a T - i can't recall the name now though
