View Full Version : Things I Learn At School
Up until last week i thought that me leaving assignments to the last minute was just me procrastinating. :p But then i learnt that all i'm really doing is taking maximum advantage of float time. ;)
Float time is the largest amount of time you could possibly leave something but still get it finished on time. LOL!! Isn't it nice to have a good technical term to use.
All weekend i have been taking advantage of float time. I have three assignments which are due next week, and i had planned to get them all done this weekend. I think i put a grand total of 20 mins work time into getting one of them half finished. Better than no time i guess. Now i have two half finished assignments, and one that's just not been started. Maybe i could drag myself away from the forums now and get a little more work done...maybe.
You can do it Bea! (if you're reading this and they're still done then...ummm...disregard)...:p
I did the same in school and in a sense I still do that now...I tell myself:rolleyes: that I work best under pressure..
Sometimes it's true- I clean better when I'm rushing, etc...
I just finished the one i started earlier! Just one and a half to go now and i'm not entirely sure i can be bothered to do anymore tonight. I probably should write the speech i'm supposed to do though.
Come on Bea! Do them all! GO!
I'm hard at work, taking a little break because it's so boring. Once i've done the speech the other assignment is pretty fun, so it won't be so horrible during the week.
Well i'm doing an english unit called The Individual In Society, and the assignment i'm slowly getting through now is an oral presentation on either a person who's greatly impacted society, or a cult/powerful group. I'm doing mine on the Exclusive Brethren which is a religious group that's been causing a fair bit of controversy in Australian politics the last few years. I did a research assignment on them last term so i have all the info, i just have to put it into speech form. It's so incredibly boring! :p
Once this is done i have a mini-guidebook to finish for tourism. It's pretty fun, i'm doing mine on Phillip Island which is part of Australia. It's such a cool place with awesome wildlife. :D
The guidebook is something I'd consider fun as well- definetly not as bad as the other. Atleast you have all the info already- you'll be done soon!
I'm DONE!!!! I still have to watch a video on the Exclusive Brethren and pick out a few mins of video to show as extra material. I can do that tomorrow though. Right now i'm overdue for bed. *zzZZZzzzZZzzzz*
GooD job! You got the hard part over with.

Well what i've learnt is life is a %^#&@ and people have way to much drama in their lives. Some people just can't stick to the simple things and keep sharpening a crayon or pencil a small thing and has to make a big deal over it. You learn way to much and then you sneak youtube videos in class when the teacher is not around and get a great laught out of it. ( watch human tetris, thats what we did last friday lol)
I just finished my last assignment. I decided to get it done now rather than Thursday night just incase our colour printer decided to be difficult and not work. :p
See...that wasn't so bad... (says the one who didn't have to do the work):)
