So I was thumbing through the nursery's pet section... AGAIN (lol) and found this stuff.

The reason I was thinking about this product is because Duckie and her brother Drake still smell like cigarette smoke... and I have had them a week. They get misted daily but they still smell. Poor little birdies. The lady I purchased my birds from was a smoker, and her husband too, and I just cant seem to get that smell off of them. If this stuff is not a good idea, does anyone else have any suggestions?

I am always wary of something you spray on a bird. I had bought a bottle of something like that and the directions said to remove all food from the area your spraying. That worried me. I don't know if they were just trying to keep you from getting your food wet or of there was something the birds shouldn't ingest. In any event I threw it out. Just didn't make sense to me. Spray it on them and it's ok for them to get it in their mouths while preening but they can't eat the food it gets on? Something just didn't seem right.

well see thats what I was worried about. I thought that perhaps if they got it in their mouths while they were preening that it would not be good for them. So then how else could I get rid of the smoke smell in Duckie and Drake's feathers?

It will eventually go away as they molt those feathers out. Just keep misting!
