View Full Version : Passed My First Driving Review!
:D I'm so happy. The way i'm doing my driving lessons, i get 17 competencies (e.g. stopping, starting, u-turns, parking) ticked off, and then there is a first review where i do all those things. I had to pass the first review to keep going onto the next three competencies (which are lane changing, merging, overtaking). Once i've done those then i have another review, lol, and then finally i have to drive in busy traffic on unfamiliar roads.
I was really worried doing the review that i wouldn't be able to get reverse parallel parking within two tries, but i did it perfectly on my first go. All that worrying for nothing. I'm really hoping that i'll have finished everything by the middle of December so that i can drive myself to horse riding when dad goes to China for work. I would hate to miss any lessons.

Good job Bea!!! sounds like things are going great with driving, things have changed since I got my license it seems so complicated now...lol thats great that you passed the parallel parking on the first go I sure didn't :p
Congrats! I'm sure you'll do just fine with the rest...it really is complicated in Australia though...here you just have to pass a common sense written exam with questions like...IF the light is yellow before you are at the intersection do you...a. slow down, c. speed up... then you have to drive with an instructor for not even a block and do one straight park. I guess that explains why there are so many bad drivers in Florida...
PS. I hate parallel parking!
We can do a one off test here too, but i don't drive well under pressure which is why there's the option of log book. ;)

I have been driving for 24+ years and I still can't DRIVE into a parking space, I can reverse anywhere, the smaller the space the easier I find it, but there is no way I can just drive into a space. I go backwards and forwards for ever, trying to wriggle my way in LOL.

I have been driving for 21 years and I still avoid small parking places I am one of those drivers that avoids the spaces up front and looks for the back empty lot to park in....lol :p
