I had to share my big scare with you this morning, My oldest daughter leaves for school at 7:40 am after I get her off on her bus I go get the baby and change and dress her and bring her down for her bottle get her in her chair for breakfast then I go get my son up for school.

My daughter always leaves lights on t.v on etc... no matter how many times I tell her to turn them off and how expensive hydro is, usually after I get the baby settled I go up and check and make sure I turn everything off while I get my son up but something made me go in her room this morning when I was getting the baby ready and thank god I did.

I walked into her room and I could smell something odd but it wasn't strong so I stood there for about a minute and it smelled like smoke  and I am looking around and I don't see anything and its getting stronger something made me turn around behind me and I noticed a big towel against the wall where her outlet is and I ran over and picked the towel up and sure enough all this smoke started coming up and the towel was on fire I ran it to the bathroom throw it in the tub and turned on the shower.

Now I am in a panic because she had asked me last night if she could take Sparkles cage into her room so I run and get her cage out of there and lulu's cage (hamster) who is on a table right beside the outlet, they seem to be ok all I kept thinking is I can't lose Sparkle after just losing Reggie :( but I don't think there was enough smoke to do any damage to them.

After I got everything settled I just sat down on the couch thinking WOW if I hadn't have gone in there when I did what could have happened if I had waited 15-20 more mintues like I usually do the whole room could have been on fire and my son and sparkle and lulu where still up there scary thoughts for me I would love to know what made me change my routine this morning someone sure is watching out for me ;) needless to say no more little night lights plugged into wall's for my daughter she either uses a lamp or stays in the dark.

Birds that are saved from full on house fires even survive, and think of the smoke they would've inhaled. I think Sparkle will be just fine. It's so lucky you went up and checked!! The thought of a house fire is one of the things that scares me most.
