I'm trying to make a visual chart of what my little babies with have...
Does anyone have a sample pic that I can use on a Grey Split to Pied
{X2 Cinnamon Pearl} Male? Would this show any cinnamon?

Well I've started it but I kinda just need a couple pictures. The others that I can't seem to find are
Mother: Cinnamon Pearl Hen
Father: Whiteface
Male Offspring:
100% Grey Split to Whiteface
{X2 Cinnamon Pearl}
Female Offspring:
100% Grey Split to Whiteface
Sorry I didn't mean to sound like I was hinting in the last thread...I don't have a problem asking for help. hehe Thanks so much for your help in this. This is a great thing to have on hand.

gray split pied (that´s what the patch in the back of the head means) the cinnamon and pearl won´t show until you breed him... to any hen, he should produce cinnamon and pearl girls

now from the newer list:
cinnamon pearl
http://www.tcs-birds.com/Cin%20pearl1.jpg
whiteface
http://www.tieltreasures.com/Mutation/White%20face%20gray%20adult%20sheba%20new.jpg
males will look gray and unless bred to a whiteface they´d produce a whiteface... the cinnamon and pearl are the same as I said above.. (no pied spot)
http://www.tieltreasures.com/Mutation/normal%20gray%20adult%20sam%20new.jpg
females will look normal greys.. if you want whitefaces you´d need to breed to a whiteface carrying mate... either if he´s split or visual..

Oh my gosh...so the Grey Split to Whiteface doesn't mean that they will look at all like a whiteface...it just means that the next generation could be whiteface if bred with a whiteface? So basically they'll be gray with white spots on the back of their neck. You are wonderful for spending time to lay this out for me. Thank you.

Cinnamon Pearl Hen

White Face Male

You can't see the splits unless it's pied then its just a "thumb Print" on the back of the head that is normally white (some are yellow)
so the babies would look like normal grey males, and normal grey females

Well that's easy...I was making it so complicated.

Don't feel bad I was like that for ever - I tend to over think the entire mutation thing, but once I stop , sit back and stop over thinking it- it makes so much more sense :)
I'm actually getting pretty good at just looking at a bird and knowing what it is :D maybe not gender wise but mutation wise

Well I feel like I'm starting to get the hang of it...now wouldn't it be smashing to be able to look at a bird and know what it's parents were just by looking at it. I mean my gray hen is a split to pied...but can ya tell what her parents were? A normal gray and a pied? or what?

you certainly got it!... as she´s split one parent would´ve had passed the gene.. if it were both she would be pied not just split to it...
for the whiteface... both parents had to have the gene either visual or split.. so one could be visual one split, both visuals or both splits to whiteface

Lovely...thanks. Is it possible for a whiteface male to be split to pied? He's so handsome but he has a little bit of white on the back of his head. Here's a pic of him.
I was told he was a normal whiteface male.

he´s definately split pied, that´s what the patch means ;)... :D ... what a cutie!!...

if you bred these two.. you´d get normal (yellow/grey) pieds and all being split whiteface..
they would be visual pieds varying in quantites but still pieds, because both parenta are carrying the gene so they each pass it and make a visual split... although there´s still chance for only splits

Great...I was told he was a full whiteface. He is a cutie! Well I guess I'll be starting my visual chart over again. LOL

you can end up getting pied like these two.....
left Jack (RB) male pied...(normal pied)
right Maui cinnamon pied (very light, she has a yellow head, bright orange cheeks a couple yellow flight/tail feathers and a small patch near the rump)
these are not from same parents... and instead of cinnamon you´d get like Mui but in grey... and whatever other splits they have... can you post pics of the couple?

pretty birdies!!
from Elvis ans Priscilla you should get also split pied babies.. and males being split pearl AND cinnamon...from those babies you could get pearl/cinnamon girls
are they already set like that?... I ask because maybe later you can put Screech with Priscilla and get male babies split to pearl, cinnamon and whiteface... then if bred to a whiteface hen get... whiteface cinnamon pearl pied girls... love that mutation... ...
and with Elvis and Lily.. you can get pieds like him and split pieds like her

They are set like that at the moment...and yes I am all over trying to "tread" mates. I love the whiteface cinnamon pearl pied too. Lily is taking a while to warm up to Screech and it's starting to annoy me. HAHA She's just such a girl! Thanks again for the help. I'm looking forward to seeing the cute little fuzzies I get...if Lily would ever warm up to her man and if Priscilla would ever lay fertile eggs. I'm thinking that if this clutch doesn't turn out fertile that I'm going to separate them and try Elvis with Lily sometime and make sure if it's actually Priscilla or if it's Elvis. I've clipped their vent feathers and everything and now I'm waiting to see if these two will actually "make" babies.

so the Grey Split to Whiteface doesn't mean that they will look at all like a whiteface...it just means that the next generation could be whiteface if bred with a whiteface? So basically they'll be gray with white spots on the back of their neck.
The spots on the back of the neck indicate a pied split, not whiteface. A whiteface split is invisible.
