Last night my family went over to my grandparent's house to celebrate Thanksgiving. It was really fun 'cause they have a parrot (type-unsure), this has been the meanest bird I have ever seen:mad:, Hes been mean for about 10 years. Since I have been reading books on cockatiels(how to tame and train them), I know some of how to tame parrots(some of which I learned from this forum). Well, I started working with him, each time he would try to bite me:mad:. I would either push my finger into his beak, or gently hit him under his chin. After about 4-5 times of him trying to bite me(10-15 mins.) I closed the cage and left the room for about 20 mins. I came back in, and he was standing inside on the door of the cage, I slowly opened the door and started slowly moving my finger closer and closer. Then just as I expected him to reach out and try to bite me, he reached out with his foot, I moved my finger closer and he stepped up:eek:!! I was so amazed!! He has never done that before. By the time we left, we could hold him on his back and pet his head. It was so fun!!! I just thought I would share this with you.
