View Full Version : For those of you who celebrate XMAS...
Have you started decorating yet and when will you? I keep trying to get in the mood but the hot and rainy weather here is making it impossible. I go swimming everyday which is not very winter like..the palm trees here are covered in lights which still doesnt make it xmassy...Maybe one of these days it will get a bit colder...Right now it's in the 70-80F...not chilly at all.

We start decorating in December sometime, probably soon actually. It's getting quite cold over here recently, but today actually looks a lovely day. BUT, it never ever ever snows here - I think its because I'm too near the sea and its something to do with the salt stopping the snow or something like that....So I have ever had a white xmas, how unfair is that?! I want a white xmas!!! :p

Its starting to look like Chirstmas around here we have a little bit of snow on the ground I put out some decorations in the house yesterday and today I am going to try and put the lights outside up I can't put all my decorations out this year that I normally do because of the baby I tried to put out Mr and Mrs Claus last night they stand up on the ground light up and move around with music but the baby keeps knocking them over...lol so I am downsizing till she gets abit older.
We usually put our tree up around the end of Nov, Willim likes to put it up on Nov 28 his birthday its a tradition we started for him a few years ago but I am scared to put it up that early this year, I can see it now the baby pulling it down knocking the bulbs off etc..... so we will see how it goes ...lol
We don't always have white a Christmas around here either last year there was no snow at all on the ground and I hate that but we sure did get lots of snow after Christmas
Well we don't ever have a white xmas here. :p More like high 30's (celcius) and everyone's collapsed near a fan or the air conditioner. My brother and i put our xmas tree up yesterday. We usually do it at the start of December, but we got a new one this year and it was just too exciting to wait. :p

It never really looks like Christmas here, almost all we get is rain. We do get a little hail every now and then and a couple years ago we got about a quarter inch of snow. We'll probably start putting up Christmas decorations in the beginning of Dec. We usually don't put it up that early because we're always so busy with other stuff. But no matter what, we always have really fun Christmases. BTW I've only had a couple White Christmases, when we went up to our Great Aunt and Uncle's house in OR.

Ok- so tonight I finnally decided to decorate- My parents always have their whole house done with lights and decorations and a huge tree...The last two years I didn't decorate but this year I decided to do it. I have a little mini optic tree but I didn't like it so I go a new one -no lights-just decorations. Here it is. (nothing big I know but it's just me and the birds)

We don't normally decorate until the beginning of December, but this year, I've downsized. I bought a smaller tree and lights and I just had to put it up, so, yep, we've got our tree up and decorated. We don't bother with anything else apart from a thingy that goes across the fireplace, I can't think what you call them now, but the same as the tree, only it lies down....we've put lights on that as well. I'll get some photos later.
I love your tree Aly, I bet the tiels would have a lovely time perching and climbing in that.

LOL- those are my kids! Those were just some trial ones! I have some other ideas that I'll try out at my mother's house with her tree. Wish I could take a pic with all 10 birds in the tree...now that would be a Xmas card!:D

hehe.... I know there your kids thats why I said it :p I would love to see a pic of all of them in a tree how cute would that be :D
Instead of decorations, all the birds can be on the tree... Would be cute to see that!

I think you should try and get a photo of all the birds on the tree. That would be too cute :D
I would love too...but...well, it would have to be my parent's tree since mine is way too small to fit 10 birds...That means I'd have to get them all to my mom's-which is fine but then all the budgies!!! They are all flighted and although I can manage to get them all sitting on my arm I don't know that it would go so well at my mom's where they have really high ceilings and they don't know their way around...I don't think it's very likely...Any ideas anyone?

Use photoshop?? :p
Use photoshop?? :p
lol...I would but don't have it. I have a very basic program called Photo Impressions 4- I can try...
I used to use Photo Impressions 5, it came with a friends camera and she gave me the software. Let me know if you have any success.

Normally I start decorating Thanksgiving night, after I've let my dinner settle
But not this year, wasn't no reason to decorate - then have to take it all down when I move next week ,
So once I get all moved in and can find everything then I'll start decorating - hopefully I get it done before xmas lol
