Here is a link that I found interesting it has info on which veggies should not be fed raw http://rawveg.info/rawfoodtoxins.html What do you guys think of this info? I know about not feeding raw potatoe and apple seed and things like that but is there such a thing as to much parsley  I guess everything in moderation.

Well, I don't know about the parsley as I've fed it for over 19 years and it's done nothing but good, HOWEVER, everything in moderation.

Aly said she's been feeding it to birds for over 19 years, I'm yet to see her say one's died from it, I don't believe it's bad.

I've heard that it's bad too, but I don't agree. I give my birds parsley, I've been feeding it to my rats for a good 6 years and it's only been good for them (I know they're not the same animals, but apart from avocado and lactose rats have similar bad foods to tiels). I think that like spinach, celery and dark lettuce in that it can't hurt in moderation. It's not like the tiels are getting bunches of parsley each.

I will sure eliminate Alfalfa sprouts from their diet. I only gave it to them once. Now I have Broccoli and clover sprouts. I sure don't want to give them anything that inhibits the immune system. Nor will I even give them Sweet potato again. I want them to be able to digest their proteins. Thank you for the info Spike! That is good to know. I bookmarked it!

I highly doubt some sweet potato once in a while will not hurt. It's not like we can protect them from everything and make them live in a bubble. It's like telling my child, no you can't eat candy your whole life because it may be bad for you. Everything in moderation. Sweet potato has many other things that are SO beneficial for them when given in the right amounts that it's certainly not worth removing completly. Just my opinion.

I think it's important to note that the webpage was for RAW veggies.

I also think it is important to note that sweet potatoes and potatoes in general should be fed cooked to our birds. The vitamins in the sweet potatoes are easily accessed and digested when they are cooked.

So don't be afraid to give sweet potatoes, just offer them cooked.

i've also recently read that carrots should be given to birds cooked as well... for hte same reason as sweet potatoes. I've decided to offer them both cooked and raw to be sure. lol

Right, forgot to add- cooked. You should not give them raw beans, sweet potato, regular potato and a few other things.

I'm sure they can get the nutrients from other foods. If there is even a possibility that it can have an adverse effect on their immune system I'll just stick with other foods.

Some things it says are very rare like being more prone to sunburn from eating raw parsley but still it is quite surprising

M&M LOVE raw carrots...especially if i put the whole carrot in, including the green top...they go nuts! You can tell when they have been eating it because their beaks and faces are orange (this fades...lol)
