Yesterday i got an acceptance letter to say that i've been offered a place at CIT (a local TAFE) to study Animal Technology. It's a two year full time (21hrs a week) course where i will learn all kinds of things about animal husbandry, genetics, breeding, minor medical procedures (such as taking blood) and a range of other things. I have to go to a session next week to enrol and sort out my time table for next year.

When i got the letter i felt sick all of a sudden. I keep getting over whelmed by the idea of "the future" since i finished grade 12 last week. It's such a big idea and i feel like i should have big plans for it, and i don't. :p I'm feeling happy about getting into the course now though. I remember being told that it's a hard course to get into because it's animals and therefore popular, so that makes me feel pretty pleased! :)

It will be good to figure out my timetable too, because then i can work out which type of job i want to get to go with it (casual or part time) so that i have some money to be saving as well as time for my pets and friends. I'm sure i'll work it all out! :D

Congrats , To me it sounds like you've already got your future planned out or at least part of it :-)

you got way more planned out then I had when I graduated high school LOL, I had NO clue what i was going to do - But then again it doesn't help much when I go Day by day - I don't make plans for anything ( when I do they never work out)

Congrats again :-)

How fantastic!!! Congratulations Bea. I presume that once you have done this course you could do maybe a Veterinary nurse course or something like that? Well done, I'm sure you will love it.

Thanks guys! Doing this will help me to get a job working as an animal technologist somewhere or a care attendant just about anywhere (vets, kennels, shelters, etc) as well as looking good if i were to apply for other animal related jobs. There are parts of the course for companion animal husbandry, farm animal husbandry and lab animal husbandry so they expose you to a lot of different things. :D

Grats bea. I'm actually looking into something like this. I don't know what i want to do but i know i want it to be with animals. I was in career class today and found some info on this and it sounds like a start for me.

Congradulations :D I did a co-op at an animal hospital and then got hired there. I worked there for 5 years. I decided to leave because working Christmas mornings and all other holidays was wearing me out. Especially with my other job as well. Iam sure you will enjoy this course. Work hard and it will all work out :D

Bea,

Congratulations!!

As my hubby would say "Muy Bien!!!"

Peaches would say "Chirp-Chirp!! Tweet-Tweet-Tweet!" (Complete with fervent head-bob)

Pucca (Baby Orange Cheeks) would say "Eeech!!" (Enthusiastically, of course. She doesn't have the vocal versatitility like Peaches, but she tries.)

Way to go!!
