Okay so I got my baby today. She said he is a male. He whistled back at the budgie once. The whistling is my husband and the budgie whistling to each other. And now the tiel is making all sorts of noises. Is it true that females dont make many noises? He is doing some sort of chatter type stuff and then he kinda flock called sort of loud. I have to take him to clip his wings more because he can get wayyyy too much height. LOL Bare with me with the video. He was responding to them whistling and it takes him a minute to start making noises :)

That chatter is how it all starts with a male. A female doesn't do that kind of "talking to yourself" thing. He is practicing the noises that he can do. He will add to them little by little 'till you would swear he will never shut up.

LOL thanks. you know right after I turned off the video he started doing it a lot. Of course he was going to make y'all wait right? LOL Yeah I notice a few noises he does. I noticed he can get a LOT louder than my budgie. I may have under estimated the tiel queit. LOL It will be okay though :) So you say male on what percentage you think? 1-100

99% Sure. If the breeder says Male there must be a reason. If it's just the chatter that is still a good indicator. But there are ways to determine sex based on it's genetics as well. If she/he know her/his stuff they can often say with certainty which ones are which.

It wasn't genetically based. I think she said it becuase she said he was whistling. And that his bars looked male. But his parents look like normal tiels. they never produce the normal greys though. They produce whiteface and albinos. Of course I know nothing about genetics.

Awesome. you guys did catch the part where I mentioned the whistles are coming from my budgie right? LOL The chattering noise he kept doing was so cute! And he started doing it more after I turned the camera off. I'll see if I can get a more interactive video tomorrow of his noises. Thanks for the replies. When my hubby and budgie were doing the wolf whitsle he kept responing by chattering. :)

Glad someone liked it. LOL knew it would bore everyone to bits. He got louder after I turned the camera off and I knew it was dark but I didn't want to disturb them and catch it real quick :)
