Does anyone here think this is a pied mutation??

I'm actually emailing through a friend to see if I can rescue him - not great living conditions as you can see by the pressboard back (still with ink on it) and the chicken wire sides - they are letting him go for $50 - I've been debating - he's apparently 1-2 years old altho I don't know much about his background....



I think i'll take him!

From the picture it looks like a light pied. Correct me if I'm wrong but a heavy pied has a small amount of grey and much more yellow while a light pied has less yellow. I don't know if I'm 100% correct. Maybe Sue can jump in!

Sure that too! I have NO clue about mutations, just know that's a pied!:)

I don't know about the age- the beak makes me thing baby.

that is a light pied for sure a heavy pied has more white then grey now if it was a wf it would have no yellow at all

Looks like a regular pied to me. About 50/50 is considered ideal!

he looks like he's burning up poor thing :(

wonder why his beak is black, if he's 1-2 yrs old Pieds don't have black beaks - at least mine doesn't and she's at least 3

Looks like a pied to me :D I would guess he is 2-3 years old. Spike has black marks on the sides of his beak, so I think it is normal for most pieds to have :)

a very pretty pied.....

my Maui also has dark parts in her beak and she´s pied too... she´s a light pied... just a couple flight feathers and a lil patch near the rump... and a yellow crest hehe....

this boy looks like a regular pied
