I've been looking for quite a white for probiotics suitable for birds in Australia without any luck. I think I remember a few other Australians saying they haven't been able to find any either.
There's a product sold here called Probotic, it's distributed by Vetafarm. It's an avian probiotic, and it's supposedly very good. I've ordered some, I've been looking for a brand sold here for ages and I can't wait to try it out.
Maybe it's just me who didn't know about it, but I thought I'd let the other Aussies know in case they were in the same position as me.
Solace.

I haven't heard of it until now. I looked it up and it's not really expensive either.
Vetafarm is pretty good, I got Vetafarm pellets, it's not the same as this probiotics but same brand. :D

I've used vetafarm pellets too, but I had to crush them before the tiels would eat them.
I'm so glad I bought this book, it's an Australian one about cockatiels (It's called 'A guide to cockatiels and their mutations as pet and aviary birds') and because it's Australian it names products that you can actually find... the problem with most tiel books is that they're not Australian and reccomend items and medications you can't get here.

that was the one i told u bout on harley's wings thread...it seems to be good...im actually going to do another course for them every so often just to replenish everything...glad u found it somewhere...i found it in a pet store about 45 mins from where i live...its also for dogs and cats
Another probiotic you can use is Inner Health Plus (yes, the capsules for humans). You can open the capsule and sprinkle some on moist food like veggies. :) This is actually what my vet clinic sells when you ask for probiotics.

oh really???? wow i wish i knew that i could use it for birds when Mary was sick!! thanks for the tip Bea....if i ever run out i know a second route now!
Another option would be plain yogurt. It doesn't contain lactose so it will not bother them when digesting it and it contains the active ingridient of Probiotics like Benebac and Ornabec.

Wow, I had no idea that stuff was safe for tiels!
I must have missed that, Kim. I sometimes do that, ugh.
Still, it was a very helpful book!
