I am going in tommorrow morning to have laser eye surgery, I am both nervous and excited I have worn glasses since grade school so this will be a big change for me, I just hope everything turns out alright and there are no complications.
I can't be on the computer for at least 24 hrs so if all goes well I will come back on Friday and let you all know how it went, I just can't imagine what it will be like to not have to fumble around on the night table for glasses in the dark to get up and go anywhere, no more baby trying to pull my glasses off, no more tiels biting on my glasses...lol :p it will be like a whole new world for me :D
Wish me luck ..........

Oooh, good luck and I hope it all goes well for you. :D
I've had glasses since I was 8, and I'm sort of saving up for lasik as well. Maybe in a few years. ^_^
How exciting for you!!! :D I'm sure it will go great and you'll never have to worry about glasses again. I'm hoping that in the near future some kind of treatment will come along that will give mum her sight back. She has retinitis pigmentosa and it almost 100% blind, but the optometrist has said that they're learning more all the time and something could easily come along in her life time. :)

Thanks everyone :D
Serenity ....I know what you mean its certainly not cheap but its come way down from what it use to be when it first came out but to be able to see its worth every penny.
Bea that must be so hard on your mom how long has she been blind? I am not familiar with retinitis pigmentosa was it a gradual thing or did it just happen all at once, technology has come so far it could happen, what a blessing it would be for her to have her sight back.
Plukie I talked to a mother in my son's class who had it done last year and she said the exact same thing it was the best thing she ever did her vision is now 20/20 and she didn't have any complications, I am optimistic but I also know that doesn't happen for everyone I can only hope that things go well for me to.

It was a gradual thing. She wasn't diagnosed with it until she was about 21 i think.

Good luck. I hope it goes well.
Sorry- late post- I think you're done and back but you probably aren't allowed on the computer yet. All my friends/coworkers that have done it say it's the best thing they ever did! I wish you the best!
