Lutino to pied. What mutation or offspring will produce?

Im getting another tiel soon. Im waiting to the person to call if its ready. Its a lutino. Im planing to get 2 tiels i have 1 it is a female pied what should i get a 2 male or a male and a female lutino or both male couse i will mate it with my pied female and planing to get another a whiteface to mate to the other lutino. What mutation should i get in male lutino to a female pied? And what can u sugest should i get to pair a lutino to a whiteface ? A male lutino or female to produce a whiteface son?

First to get any white faces Both parents have to have the gene either Visual or Split
White face is a Autosomal Recessive Gene

If you take a Male White Face to a Lutino Female you only get

Mother:Lutino
Father:Whiteface

male offspring:
100% Grey Split To Whiteface {X2: Lutino}

female offspring:
100% Grey Split To Whiteface


and if you do it the other way,

male Lutino to a Female White Face


Mother:Whiteface
Father:Lutino

male offspring:
100% Grey Split To Whiteface {X1: Lutino}

female offspring:
100% Lutino Split To Whiteface


If you take a lutino Male to a Pied female you will get


Mother:Pied
Father:Lutino

male offspring:
100% Grey Split To Pied {X1: Lutino}

female offspring:
100% Lutino Split To Pied



Lutino is sex linked - in order to get males & females both parents have to have the gene this means the mother has to be lutino (FEMALES CAN NOT BE SPLIT TO LUTINO) and the father has to be lutino OR Split to Lutino

if you have a male Lutino Paired to any non lutino female, , the only lutino's you will get are female with males being split to lutino

now this isn't a bad thing - It's easy to sex them that way :)

Thank u very much for the info! It help me a lot to decide what should i get! If a get pair any of their son to the other i mean their mother and father lutino to pied and lutino to white face i wil get a both 100% lutino couse thier son has a lutino gene?

I'm not understanding what your asking

if your wanting both males and females lutinos

and if you go by the 2 pairs you asked about

you can take a male from the 1st pair Male White Face to a Lutino Female and then pair that to a female from the 2nd pair that is lutino

you will get both male and females that are Lutino's
Also doing it this way they're not related , and Your not breeding a lutino to a lutino (this is frowned upon because it makes the Genetic bald spot of a lutino much larger)

I mean the one u said! The mother lutino split to pied and the grey split to whiteface{x2:lutino} i will get a male and a female lutino. And about the lutino i will get i think their both relatives. Is it ok if i pair their son to the other?

let's assume they're related - for topic sake we'll say the Lutino's your getting are Brother and sister - you Pair them to birds who are not related to them, they have babies..... you take 1 baby from each pair.......... If i'm thinking this out right they'd be far enough down the line to not have any effects , I do not thing that is considered inbreeding(incest) I believe it would be line breeding

But I could be wrong, So hopefully some one else can help you out there.
