is she split to pied or no?

since Goldie and Sun Dances oldest baby lost his pearls and I noticed the "tick"mark on the back of his head for split to pied. I've had to do a lot of figuring out on which parent is split to pied

And then i have to figure out which of their babies are split to pied

I beleive Goldie was a pearl pied...cinnamon right? (going on memory of recent pix's)

There are no pied feathers in Sadies tail.

I agree! All of the tail feathers have dark shafts. A pied feather would have a white shaft.

IF Goldie is pied because the only White Face Cinnamon Pearls I would get are Split to pied

Yes, all Goldies offspring would be split to pied.

I just think its so odd only one out of a total of 8 babies showed the normal "tick" mark for being split to pied and none of the others or the parents do lol

but they're on more eggs now for the start of this season so we'll see how these ones go :)

They will not always show the tick mark on the back of the head. Sometimes it is 1 light colored toe, a stripe on the beak, or 1 light colored feather anywhere on the body where it shouldn't be.

yeah i know about the nails, I keep looking but they make it hard they don't like to hold still lol

With Sun Dance his is all dark , but he is missing a single nail but the tiny bit left on the foot itself is dark so i'm figuring all his nails are dark

Once all the pearling is totally molted out you may find an odd white feather on his back, ticking on the back of the head, or sometimes it can be hidden on the underside of the wing. And also the wing spots when youg are going to be very irregula shaped and elongated looking...

Ok i'll have to see if i can catch a look next time he has his wings spread he's not tame... and he's also the one the stupid people cut one wing bone off :( So he doesn't have flight feathers one one side

But that pic you added, is similar to Sadies wing spots, her's aren't round, they're odd shaped and she has a few that are long
