Quick question: So, after Yoko flies around for a long period of time, she opens her beak and "pants," easily audible, heavy, breathing. Is this normal? Thanks.
If it's like she's taking very quick breaths, yes it's normal if she has just done some heavy flying. Usually my birds don't do it unless they've just flown around for two or more minutes. Quick flights shouldn't be causing her to pant.
If he's young ir just started being allowed to so he's still getting used to it yes its normal. However if he's an adult and has always been flighted and allowed to fly then I would take him to a vet.
Yes, it's normal. Flying for extended periods of time uses up a lot of energy. She should recover fairly quickly after a rest and a re-fuel.
